Work Status: On-site

The CNC Machine Operator performs a variety of routine duties involved in minor set-ups and the operation of a variety of CNC and manual machine tools.

Measures of success:

  • Meet Safety requirements; personal protective equipment always worn in the facility
  • Meet or exceed daily production requirements
  • 100% accuracy on any inventory transactions and quality requirements
  • 100% adherence to processes and material usage, no deviations

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Uses CNC lathes, CNC milling machines, radial drills, vertical turret lathes, a variety of adjustable precision measuring instruments, and various other tools common to the machining trade.
  • Works from drawings, specifications, set-ups sheets and verbal instructions.
  • Performs routine set-ups on machine tools and make production runs on CNC lathes, radial drills and other production equipment to produce parts for use in the assembly of a variety of products.
    • Holds close tolerances. Makes periodic checks to assure conformance to specifications.
    • Refers problems to set-up person or supervisor.
    • Reports machine malfunctions, defective materials, or other unusual conditions.
  • Moves average weight material (over 25 lbs. and up to 60 lbs.) as necessary in the performance of job.
  • Maintains production records.
  • Maintains work area in a neat, clean and orderly condition and observes all safety regulations and practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have at least 1-3 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment as a CNC machine operator
  • Requires the use of drawings, specifications, set-up sheets and adjustable measuring instruments; requiring basic skills knowledge.
  • Ability to navigate multiple windows in company Enterprise Resource Program (ERP) system to access production and technical resource data.
  • Ability to frequently lift or move material weighing over 25 lbs. and up to 60 lbs.
  • Aptitude to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to read and follow written procedures and use of drawings and specifications where some interpretation is required.
  • Knowledge of basic math, including decimals and fractions.
  • Experience using variety of power tools and material handling equipment.

Work Environment

The CNC Machine Operator will work primarily in a production setting where safety equipment or personal protective gear is required. Frequent exposure in production plant where large equipment and noise are prevalent.

This position is reportedinto the site every day.

This position has no direct reports.

Full compensation packages are based on candidate experience and certifications.
Salary range
$26.33$28.26 USD
