STS Aero is seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Setup Technician to join our expanding machine shop team. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with programmers and engineers to set up production runs and assist with program development. Our machine shop is growing rapidly, driven by automation and cutting-edge technology investments. Responsibilities

  • Set-up machines and validate First Article.
  • Set-up and proof new programs. Report any findings to the programmer.
  • Trains or assists operators on equipment and related operations including set up, interpreting work instructions and drawings.
  • Continuously check that all machines are operating efficiently and producing good parts.
  • Troubleshoots and corrects problems in a timely manner.
  • Prepare material, documents and tooling for next scheduled job.
  • Works with programmer to continually seek process improvements and cycle time reductions.
  • Prioritizes and follows up on production support projects, based on overall need and schedule requirements.
  • When schedule allows, perform set-up training with designated employees.
  • Assist programmer in developing tool lists, set-up sheets, in-process inspection sheets and any other related documents.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members
  • Ability to operate machine equipment according to job instructions
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
