Job Description

Martin Energy Group is looking for an experienced CNC Laser/ Brake Operator. This role will be Responsible for programming, operating, and maintaining CNC laser cutting and brake press machines to produce high-quality products. This position is a 2nd shift position.

Schedule- Sunday- 10:30pm-7am, Monday- Thursday- 8:30pm- 7:00am

  1. Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Machine Operation: Set up, operate, and monitor CNC laser cutting and brake press machines to ensure accurate production of parts and materials based on work orders.
  • Programming: Program CNC machines according to blueprints and work order specifications, ensuring all required dimensions and tolerances are met.
  • Blueprint Reading: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications to ensure proper machine operation and job completion.
  • Material Selection: Select and load materials into the CNC machines based on the specifications outlined in the work order. Ensure materials are available and meet quality standards.
  • Loading/Unloading: Use a forklift or other material handling equipment to load and unload raw materials and finished parts from machines.
  • Quality Control: Perform routine quality checks to ensure parts meet required specifications. Conduct inspections of finished products for quality assurance.
  • Machine Maintenance: Modify machine settings as needed to adjust to job specifications, troubleshoot issues, and ensure machines are operating efficiently.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and track inventory levels of raw materials, tools, and supplies. Communicate with management to ensure stock is replenished as necessary.
  • Collaboration: Communicate effectively with management and team members to report progress, address concerns, and collaborate on solutions to optimize production.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment. Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
  • Additional Duties: Assist with other brake press duties, machine setups, and general maintenance tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

Required Competencies

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical or certification in CNC machining or related fields preferred
  • Experience: CNC laser and brake press machines
  • Skills:
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and/or work instructions
  • Planning and organization skills
  • Ability to work within teams
  • Ability to take initiative to complete work in process and solve problems with little direction
  • High attention to detail and tidiness
