
Title: CNC Laser Operator
Shift: First Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
Salary: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour, depending on experience
CNC Laser Operator Role
The CNC Laser Operator ensures the efficient and precise cutting of metal components using industrial laser systems. This role exists to support daily production goals through accurate material loading, equipment operation, precision quality inspection, and material handling
CNC Laser Operator Responsibilities
• Operate and monitor CNC laser cutting systems for accurate part processing
• Utilize nesting software to prepare, layout, and optimize daily production jobs
• Load and unload raw sheet material onto the laser bed using forklifts and overhead cranes
• Unload heavy skids of sheet material off transport trucks and store in designated bin locations
• Perform dimensional quality control checks on parts and record measurements on job travelers
• Log in and out of jobs on the computer to maintain precise completed part counts
• Perform daily safety checks and routine preventative maintenance on assigned equipment
• Cross-operate auxiliary sheet metal equipment including square shears, circle shears, and automated tube saws
CNC Laser Operator Reporting Relationships
This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and has no direct reports.
About You
• Possess 2-3 years of CNC laser cutting experience
• Demonstrate proficiency operating CNC laser cutting systems
• Utilize CAD/CAM or nesting software for job layout optimization
• Possess active forklift experience and the ability to safely handle heavy skids
• Perform basic arithmetic for dimensional measurements and quality calculations
• Understand and navigate bin location inventory systems efficiently
• Communicate effectively to contribute positively to a team environment
• Exhibit strong organizational skills, self-responsibility, and task efficiency

Physical Demands & Working Conditions: This position operates in a manufacturing plant environment. Physical requirements include regular standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, and operating industrial machinery, overhead cranes, and forklifts. The environment may involve exposure to loud noise, metallic dust, and temperature changes typical of a production facility. Safety glasses and steel-toed boots are required.
