Job Description

We are hiring CNC CO2 Laser Cutter Technicians to join our production team. In this role, you will set up and operate state-of-the-art TRUMP, Mazak, and Mitsubishi CNC flat laser cutting machines to transform raw metal sheets into the precision components that form high-end architectural facades.

This requires mechanical aptitude, a focus on safety, and a sharp eye for tight tolerances. You will be responsible for handling heavy materials, monitoring machine performance and assist gases, and verifying that every cut matches precise engineering blueprints. We are looking for hands-on workers who take pride in precision and want to manufacture products that define city skylines.

Profiles encouraged to apply include: CNC machine operators, metal fabricators, machinists, heavy equipment operators, and technically-minded individuals who are comfortable working with automated machinery, reading blueprints, and handling raw steel and aluminum.

Compensation

  • $21 / hr
  • Paid weekly

Shift

  • Monday to Friday
  • 1st Shift: 5:00am - 4:30pm

Benefits

  • Health, vision, dental
  • 401(k) + match
  • PTO

Responsibilities

  • Set Up & Operate CNC Lasers – Upload digital cutting programs into the machine's CNC controller. Calibrate laser settings, adjust focal points, and select the correct parameters based on the specific thickness and type of metal (aluminum, steel, stainless) being cut.
  • Execute Safe Material Handling – Safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, or suction lifters to maneuver heavy pallets of raw sheet metal onto the laser cutting bed without damaging the material.
  • Perform Critical Quality Inspections – Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) using precision tools like calipers and tape measures. Verify that the initial cut pieces strictly match the dimensional tolerances of the engineering blueprints before running the full batch.
  • Monitor Machine Health & Process – Actively monitor the cutting process to ensure clean edges free of burrs. Keep an eye on assist gas levels (oxygen, nitrogen), check for tool or lens wear, and perform routine preventative maintenance like cleaning the machine slats.
  • Manage Handoff & Organization – Perform light deburring if necessary, properly label finished parts, and organize them efficiently for a seamless handoff to the Press Brake operators for the next phase of manufacturing.
  • Maintain Workflow Efficiency – Work efficiently in a fast-paced industrial environment while adhering to strict safety protocols and keeping your manufacturing station organized.

Requirements

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, engineering blueprints, and digital cut files
  • Experience using basic measuring tools (tape measures, digital calipers)
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and lift/move heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) safely
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure precision cuts and spot edge defects

Preferred Skills

  • Previous experience operating CNC machinery or flat bed lasers (e.g., TRUMPF, MAZAK, MITSUBISHI
  • Experience operating overhead cranes, jib cranes, and forklifts
  • Familiarity with metal fabrication properties and cutting raw materials
  • Basic understanding of CNC nesting software or CAD/CAM programs

Benefits

  • Health insurance
  • 401(k) matching
  • Paid time off
  • Vision insurance

About Laborup

Laborup is the #1 AI powered talent platform for America’s industrial workforce. We use AI to create jobs, not take them away. We help HR and plant leaders hire and keep the skilled workers who keep plants running: machinists, welders, maintenance techs, operators, industrial electricians, and engineers. USA Today called us the “LinkedIn for blue collar workers,” and Forbes profiled our work in “How AI Is Solving America’s 1 Trillion Dollar Manufacturing Labor Crisis.”

Today we work with manufacturers from 50 person shops to large public companies with tens of thousands of employees, and the story is the same everywhere. It is hard to find talent, hard to keep good people, and staffing costs keep rising. In a market where filling critical industrial roles can take months and turnover is constant, Laborup helps teams move qualified workers from first contact to on site interview in days instead of weeks and keep them on the floor longer.

Most of the workers our customers need are not on LinkedIn or the usual job boards. Laborup uses AI to find this hidden workforce, call and text them, screen and qualify them, build real profiles, and match them directly to the plants and roles where they can succeed. For workers, that means real, permanent roles at serious manufacturers, not one off gigs. For companies, it is durable infrastructure for hiring and retention at scale in a labor market that will stay tight for years.

We work across nuclear, defense, and advanced manufacturing, as well as sectors like aerospace, automotive, and food production. Teams that use Laborup hire 5 to 10 times faster, see around 3 times better retention, and cut cost per hire by up to 50 to 70 percent. That turns into fewer empty shifts, fewer missed orders, more stable teams, and more capacity without more headache.

We are building the modern talent system for America’s industrial base with a simple long term goal: put a billion industrial workers to work in good jobs that matter.
