Project-Based Instructor — CNC Field Service Engineer (W-2 Employee)
Position Type: Project-Based Instructor — CNC Field Service Engineer (W-2 employee)
Compensation: $700 to $900 per teaching day, plus prepaid airfare, hotel, rental car, mileage, and other covered travel costs. Meals are reimbursed at the federal per-diem rate.

National Technology Transfer, Inc. is enlarging its instructional team to deliver CNC field service and machining courses (3-axis, 5-axis, machine tool alignment, positioning and accuracy, troubleshooting, etc.) in the United States, with priority assignments on the West Coast. Using NTT-developed course content and curriculum, together with portable training equipment, you will convert your installation, service, and troubleshooting expertise into engaging, hands-on learning that strengthens America’s skilled-trades workforce. Knowledge of aerospace and airframe products is a significant advantage. Core Responsibilities

• Provide shop and classroom instruction on CNC machine installation, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair, as well as multi-axis G-code programming, computer-aided manufacturing tool-path creation for FANUC control systems, fixturing, probing, in-process measurement, and precision-cutting strategies.
• Teach assigned classes in full compliance with NTT and client policies, tailoring delivery to varied learner backgrounds and skill levels.
• Remain current in subject matter through professional development and contribute suggestions for program improvement and growth.
• Follow all company policies and procedures and perform additional professional duties that support high-quality instruction.

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of seven (7) years of combined experience as a CNC Field Service Engineer or equivalent, including installation, commissioning, alignment, troubleshooting, and repair of CNC machining centers.
• Strong mechanical and electrical background in CNC machine repair, including servo systems, drives, wiring, hydraulics, and calibration.
• Demonstrated expertise in tooling selection, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, fixture design, and high-speed machining of aluminum, titanium, and/or Inconel.
• Proficiency with FANUC controllers for both programming and service diagnostics.
• Strong public-speaking ability and classroom-management skills, with proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to learners of all experience levels.
• Willingness and ability to travel throughout the United States by air and automobile, functioning independently while on assignment.
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and standard office-productivity tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior teaching, corporate-training, or apprenticeship-mentoring experience with adult learners.
• Familiarity with aerospace and airframe machining practices, including tool-wear monitoring and burr-free finishing.
• Experience with CAM and CNC software such as Mastercam, Siemens NX, Fusion 360, or SolidCAM is a plus.
• Industry credentials such as NIMS certifications, Society of Manufacturing Engineers Certified Manufacturing Technologist, or FANUC Certified CNC Programmer.
• A bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline is preferred.

Classification, Pay, and Benefits

This position is classified as a W‑2 project‑based instructor role compensated at a daily teaching rate of $700 to $800. Eligible instructors may participate in the NTT 401(k) retirement plan and the employee‑discount program.
