We serve a wide range of industries with precision-engineered cast components, and we are looking for a hands-on leader to take our CNC operations to the next level. We are seeking an experienced and results-driven CNC Department Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our CNC machining department. This individual will be responsible for managing personnel, production scheduling, equipment, and quality control to ensure precision-machined castings are delivered on time and to spec. This role is critical to bridging foundry and final machining operations and will report directly to the VP of Operations.We offer many perks:

Compensation ranges from $35 to $40 per hour, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the CNC department, including machinists, and operators.
  • Plan, prioritize, and schedule jobs to meet production and customer delivery targets.
  • Ensure all machined parts meet required specifications and quality standards.
  • Oversee machine maintenance and ensure equipment is operating efficiently.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams on fixture design, tool selection, and continuous process improvements.
  • Develop and implement machining processes for new parts.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, safety, and lean manufacturing.
  • Train and mentor staff to ensure skill development and consistent performance.
  • Track department KPIs, downtime, and performance metrics.
  • Manage tooling inventory, supplier relations, and cost control.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of CNC machining experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of G-code programming, multi-axis CNC mills/lathes, and fixturing methods.
  • Experience machining steel castings is a plus.
  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 and shop floor documentation practices.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
