The Department Leader of CNC Mill Lathe or Drill Press is responsible for working with supervisors to determine work procedure, prepare work schedule, and expedite workflow within the department. This position will train and mentor new employees, make recommendations for process improvements, and fulfill the workload of a level III operator.

This position will report to our facility in Trevose, PA and must be available to work during our 2nd shift hours of operation, 2:30 PM – 11:30 PM EDT, with the first few weeks spent training on the 1st shift (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM EDT) before transitioning to the 2nd shift.

Responsibilities of this role include:
• Review work center/departmental work listings to determine work procedure, prepare work schedule, and expedite workflow within department by working with supervisors and managers.
• Inform personnel on method and procedure to be used for the assignment.
• Perform job setups as needed.
• Maintain high quality standards and effective production rates within the department.
• Examine work of associates in department for exactness, neatness, and conformance to provided specifications.
• Train and mentor new employees.
• Review and correct errors and deficiencies in methods, procedures, and work sequences.
• Document corrections and modifications needed for set-up procedures and operation of machinery.
• Recommend adjustments to work standards as needed and monitor effective achievement of those standards.
• Improve efficiency through set-up reduction and problem definition and resolution.
• Fulfill the duties of a level III operator in their department on whatever machine they are requested to use.
• Perform other duties as required within the nature and level of work.

Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience in a manufacturing environment and three (3) years of work-related experience as a Level III operator.
• Must possess knowledge of basic math skills.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand basic English.
• Ability to learn, problem-solve, and make decisions per work instructions and documents.
• Ability to communicate and work as a team member and team leader.

Physical Demand Requirements
Occasionally required to stand, walk or sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
