The CNA at Kenmare Rehab provides direct, high-quality care to residents under the supervision of an RN or LPN and in accordance with guidelines established by the Nurse Manager. This role supports residents’ daily care needs, assists with mobility and comfort measures, and helps maintain a safe, therapeutic environment within the rehabilitation setting. As part of a collaborative care team, the CNA works closely with nursing staff and therapy teams to support recovery goals while consistently promoting resident dignity and safety. Strong communication, attention to detail, and a commitment to compassionate, team-based care are essential to success in this position.
This role requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and assisting residents with mobility throughout the shift. CNAs must be able to lift, move, or support 35-50 pounds independently and more when using proper assistive devices or team lifts. The position demands fine motor coordination, manual dexterity for clinical tasks, and the ability to respond quickly to resident needs. Sustained attention, verbal communication, and the ability to work safely in a physically active environment are essential.
Work is performed in a long-term care and rehabilitation environment with regular exposure to residents, clinical equipment, and potential contact with bodily fluids. The CNA must follow infectioncontrol standards, safety procedures, and protective equipment guidelines. The work environment requires adaptability to changing resident needs, varying activity levels, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. Occasional exposure to cleaning agents, noise, and highdemand periods is expected while maintaining professionalism and residentcentered focus.
