Position: CNA / Certified Nurse's Aide

Shifts Available:

  • 7am-3:30pm, 4 Days/ Week
  • Per diem

Starting Pay MINIMUM of $20.50 /hour- base pay increases based on years of Certification. This is not including any differentials.

The Certified Nurse’s Aide assists the licensed nursing staff by performing routine nursing duties and activities of daily living.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Assists residents with dressing, grooming, eating, bathing, positioning, turning, toileting, exercising, and ambulating.
  • Reports and records observations and results of treatments, tests, procedures, and specimens when indicated.
  • Reports and records residents’ vital signs and weight.
  • Reports all significant changes in residents’ condition to nurse immediately. Document in clinical record in POC.
  • Answers signal lights promptly.
  • Changes bed linens, makes beds and keeps rooms clean and orderly.
  • Encourages independence, attendance at activities, restorative programs, and rehabilitation.
  • Attends in-service training and education session, as assigned.
  • Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
  • Preforms safe and efficient operation of mechanical lift equipment.
  • Follow all infection control standards.

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a State approved nursing assistant training program. Prior geriatric nursing aide experience is preferred. Registration with State of Connecticut registry required.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.
  • Ability to legibly track and document care given to each resident.

  • Enjoys giving high-quality of care to residents, showing nothing but compassion and understanding for those who may be struggling.
  • Able to understand and anticipate resident needs, giving them the best service possible.
  • Understands the importance of teamwork and a positive attitude.
