- - - POSITION SCOPE
- - - The CMM Quality Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and precision of manufactured products by leveraging CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) programming expertise. This position is responsible for generating accurate data and layouts utilizing CMM technology to support the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and provide actionable insights to the Quality Engineer. By ensuring that production processes meet stringent quality standards, the CMM Quality Engineer contributes to the success of the production team and ultimately enhances overall product quality.
- - - ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

- - - - Primary CMM Programmer.
- - - - Leads efforts to resolve customer quality complaints in a satisfactory manner.
- - - - Write programs for first article dimensional checks and daily production runs and assist with training.
- - - - Perform and submit first piece dimensional inspection reports to customers.
- - - - Takes on management of projects as assigned by QA Manager.
- - - - Assist production, Engineering and QA with gauging, measuring and problem solving.
- - - - Monitor Control Charting on Critical process characteristics.
- - - - Assist in measurement system analysis.
- - - - Lead and participate in problem solving and Continuous Improvement teams.
- - - - Perform layered process, manufacturing process, and internal audits as scheduled.

- - - - Participate in the APQP program meetings and review and complete the necessary tasks as assigned.
- - - - Prioritize CMM activities based on internal and customer needs.
- - - - Provide feedback based on CMM/Layout results to the team.

- - - - Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

- - - CERTIFICATION, EDUCATION, and WORK EXPERIENCE:

- - - - Bachelor’s degree in engineering or quality related field.
- - - - Proficiency in CMM programming software and CAD software.
- - - - Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
- - - - Experience with PPAP documentation and quality management systems.
- - - - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- - - - Effective communication and collaboration abilities to work cross-functionally with various teams and with external customers.
- - - - Prior experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
- - - - Use gauging equipment with emphasis on CMM & SPC.
- - - - Computer literate in functions of spreadsheet, word processing & project charting programs.
- - - - Prefer Internal Auditor Certification (IATF 16949).
