Job Title: CMC Project ManagerDuration: 08/24/2026 to 02/26/2027 months with possible extensionOffice: Research Triangle Park, NC 27709
Pay rate: $70.69/hr. on W2
The Project Manager is responsible for leading complex, cross-functional CMC projects that support business strategy, operational excellence, and organizational objectives. As a core member of a highly matrixed organization, the individual partners with leaders, subject matter experts, and functional teams to drive the successful planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery of critical business initiatives.This role requires an exceptionally detail-oriented project management professional who can manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, maintain rigorous oversight of timelines, resources, risks, dependencies, budgets, and deliverables, and ensure alignment between project objectives and organizational priorities.The Project Manager translates business requirements into actionable plans, creates structure and accountability, drives project governance, and provides data-driven insights to support decision-making throughout the project lifecycle. This individual is responsible for ensuring that commitments are delivered on time, risks are proactively managed, and project objectives are achieved.
Job Responsibilities:Project Leadership and Execution- Lead complex cross-functional projects from initiation through implementation and closeout.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, resource requirements, and implementation roadmaps.
- Drive execution across multiple functions to achieve project objectives and milestones.
- Establish project governance processes, meeting structures, decision logs, and communication plans.
- Coordinate project activities across stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of commitments and deliverables.
- Track project scope and manage changes through established governance processes.
Detailed Project Planning and Controls- Maintain detailed project schedules, tracking milestones, dependencies, assumptions, risks, decisions, and action items.
- Monitor project progress against scope, timeline, budget, and quality objectives.
- Conduct project reviews and provide regular status updates to leadership and stakeholders.
- Identify schedule risks and develop contingency plans to maintain project delivery.
- Ensure project documentation is accurate, current, complete, and audit-ready.
- Drive accountability for project actions and commitments across all participating functions.
Risk and Issue Management- Proactively identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues.
- Develop mitigation plans and monitor effectiveness through project completion.
- Escalate critical risks and issues appropriately to support timely decision-making.
- Facilitate problem-solving sessions to remove barriers and maintain project momentum.
Qualifications Required:- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Life Sciences, Supply Chain, Operations, Project Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of project management, operations, business transformation, or related experience.
- Proven experience leading complex cross-functional projects from initiation through implementation.
- Strong expertise in project planning, scheduling, risk management, and project controls.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project timelines, budgets, resources, dependencies, and deliverables.
- Experience using project management methodologies and tools to track project performance.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent facilitation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and project management software.
- Preferred Qualifications
- PMP (Project Management Professional), PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum, or similar project management certification.
- Experience managing projects in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, manufacturing, healthcare, or other regulated industries.
- Experience supporting executive governance processes and leadership decision-making.
- Knowledge of risk management, change management, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience managing global projects involving international stakeholders.
