Job Description

The Cluster Graphic Artist produces visual solutions to the communication needs of the cluster hotels, using a mix of creative skills and commercial awareness. Designers need imaginative flair, awareness of current trends in the visual arts, working knowledge of the latest computer software and an understanding of material costs and time limits, all of which can impact on the design.

Appropriate medium and styles are selected in conjunction with the hotel’s requirements. By providing quality visuals it is hoped the profit margins of the hotel will increase as potential customers become more informed or persuaded by the graphics.

Follow all company policies and procedures; ensure uniform and personal appearance is clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests’ service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation. Speak with others using clear and professional language and answer telephones using appropriate etiquette. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others and support team to reach common goals. Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards. Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (e.g., small print); stand, sit or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Creative

  1. Design and create hotel marketing collaterals such as menu, poster, digital signage, e-flyer, banners and other kinds of illustrations
  2. Use innovation to redefine a design brief and meet the constraints of cost and time
  3. Multi-task; oftentimes work on more than one design brief at a time
  4. Using a wide range of media, including photography and computer aided design
  5. Contribute and produce accurate and high quality work through high resolution projects
  6. Keeping abreast of developments in IT, particularly design programs
  7. Compiling finished projects
  8. Demonstrates a positive attitude and must be able to easily rework deadlines as business objectives and priorities change

Photography

  1. Create permanent visual images for technical and documentary purposes
  2. Seek out appropriate photographic subjects and opportunities
  3. Liaise with other professionals, including graphic designers, suppliers, picture researchers, commissioning editors and art directors

Safety and Security

  1. Follow property specific procedures for handling emergency situations (e.g. evacuations, medical emergencies, natural disasters).
  2. Follow company and department safety and security policies and procedures to ensure a clean, safe, and secure environment.
  3. Identify and correct unsafe work procedures or conditions and/or report them to management and security/safety personnel.
  4. Report work related accidents, or other injuries immediately upon occurrence to manager/supervisor.
  5. Maintain awareness of undesirable persons on property premises.

  1. Protect the privacy and security of guests and coworkers.
  2. Maintain confidentiality of proprietary materials and information.
  3. Follow company and department policies and procedures.
  4. Ensure uniform, nametags, and personal appearance are clean, hygienic, professional and in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  5. Protect company tools, equipment, machines or other assets in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  6. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

Guest Relations

  1. Thank guests with genuine appreciation and provide a fond farewell.
  2. Address guests’ service needs in a professional, positive and timely manner.
  3. Actively listen and respond positively to guest questions, concerns and requests.
  4. Anticipate guests’ service needs, including asking questions of guests to better understand their needs and watching/listening to guest preferences and acting on them whenever possible.
  5. Welcome and acknowledge each and every guest with a smile, eye contact, and a friendly verbal greeting, using the guest’s name when possible.
  6. Engage guests in conversation regarding their stay, property services and area attractions/offerings.
  7. Assist other employees to ensure proper coverage and prompt guest service.
  8. Provide assistance to individuals with disabilities, including assisting visually, hearing or physically-impaired individuals within guidelines (e.g., escorting them when requested, using words to explain actions, writing directions on paper, moving objects out of the way, or offering access to Braille or TDD phones)

  1. Develop and maintain positive and productive working relationships with other employees and departments.
  2. Support all co-workers and treat them with dignity and respect.
  3. Partner with and assist others to promote an environment of teamwork and achieve common goals.
