San Angelo Clubhouse is seeking a compassionate, flexible, and mission-driven Part-Time Social Engagement Specialist (Generalist) to join our team. This position fulfills the same core responsibilities as a full-time Generalist within the Clubhouse model, with a specialized focus on social engagement and weekend and evening programming.
The primary work schedule will include Saturdays, partial weekday hours as needed, and active support of weekly social and community events.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative, recovery-oriented environment and believes in the power of community as a foundation for mental health.
About San Angelo Clubhouse
San Angelo Clubhouse is a recovery-based community for adults living with mental illness. Guided by the international Clubhouse Model, we work side-by-side with members to provide opportunities for meaningful work, social connection, employment support, and community integration.
Position Responsibilities
The Social Engagement Specialist functions as a Generalist and shares responsibility across all areas of Clubhouse operations, including:
Work-Ordered Day Participation
- Work side-by-side with members in daily Clubhouse operations

- Support tasks in Culinary, Cultivation (Therapeutic Gardening), Communications, Membership Development, Café, and Front Desk functions

- Encourage member participation and leadership

- Assist in planning and implementing daily workflow

Social & Weekend Programming
- Lead and support Saturday programming and activities

- Assist with planning, organizing, and facilitating weekly social events

- Foster an inclusive, welcoming environment during all social programming

- Encourage member engagement and peer connection

- Support special events and community outings as needed

- Transport Clubhouse members home (in Clubhouse vehicle) after social events.

- Build meaningful, professional relationships with members

- Assist with outreach to absent members

- Support members in developing confidence, routine, and purpose

QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION REQUIRED: Graduation from a standard high school or documentation of the General Equivalency Examination has been obtained.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license and be insurable on the Center’s insurance policy. Additionally, no more than three moving violations in the past three years.
