Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems, F-35 Sustainment Operating Unit, has an opening for an CLS - F-35 Aircraft Avionics Mechanic 3 or 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals at MCAS Miramar
You will be assigned as an Aircraft Mechanic – Aircraft Avionics Technicians, F-35 to install, remove, inspect, test, maintain, and repair avionics systems, components, and ancillary equipment of installed aircraft communications/ navigation/radar/electrical systems to include deceptive electronic countermeasures (DECM) systems at the OMA level.

Basic Qualifications:
Aircraft Mechanic 3:High School diploma or GED and a minimum of 4 years of mechanical/aircraft airframe/avionics and/or crew chief experience.
Aircraft Mechanic 4:High School diploma or GED and a minimum of 6 years of mechanical/aircraft airframe/ avionics and/or crew chief experience.
F-35B Aircraft Avionics Systems Technician Course (N56A392), (M16A391), or (M17A39C) or equivalent.
Ability to obtain US Navy or Marine Corps CDI/CDQAR Avionics certification.
Experience in the use of ALIS and associated programs for documenting maintenance and reporting deficiencies within CRM and JDRS.
Ability to read and interpret technical data and blueprint drawings.
Provide training via self-paced readings, labs, and on-the job training to individuals in the performance of ground maintenance duties.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong written and verbal communications skills are necessary in the performance of duties.
Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
Must be able to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting items weighing up to 25 pounds, and working overhead.
Must be able to access small, confined spaces and work in an enclosed environment.
Must be able to pass a New Hire Physical prior to starting.
Ability to pass medical/respiratory evaluation to obtain and maintain necessary respirator clearance and compliance with all respirator fitting requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
8 Years F-22 or F-35 or equivalent Avionics experience
F-35 ALIS/CMMS/CRM experience
Cryptographic / CommSec Manager Experience
U. S. Navy or U. S. Marine Corps experience with thorough understanding of F-35 Fighter Aircraft Systems and operations under COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 and 4790.35.
F-135 Power plant engine run certification, F-35 avionics systems, fighter aircraft crew escape systems (i.e., canopy and ejection seat), experience in structural repairs and low observable system maintenance are highly desirable.
6 or more years AV-8B, F/A-18, F-22 or F-35 Avionics Experience.
Excellent communication skills and experience in a Military-focused Customer Service-Related Industry.
Primary Level Salary Range: $66,600.00 - $111,000.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $79,100.00 - $131,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
