Your Role:

As a Cloud Solutions Architect /Senior Cloud Platform Engineer, you will join the Data & AI Solutions - Engineering team in our Healthcare R&D business. You will leverage your expertise in our D&A Landscape primarily using AWS Cloud Services and Azure AD, supporting our R&D efforts in drug discovery and development.

Your role includes supporting and implementing the technical roadmap, maintaining platform functionalities, engineer data archive process and adapting to emerging technologies. Responsibilities involve implementing new features and building and managing deployments.

Who You Are:

• A university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills.
• With 5 plus years of relevant experience.
• You are a proficient software engineer who knows the fundamentals of computer science and you master the Python programming language.
• A proven track record of building and delivering secure, scalable, and resilient cloud-native systems using AWS services at an enterprise level.
• Fluency in English with excellent communication skills.
• Eager to learn and collaborate in a multinational environment, working with cross-functional teams across the US, Europe (primarily Germany), and India.
• A strong business facing skills with a sense of accountability and ownership, with a capacity for rapid learning.

Key Technical Skills and Experience:

• Programming Skills: In-depth experience in Python, relational databases, SQL, and a background in object oriented programming languages such as Scala, C#, or Java is advantageous
• Services : Knowledge of distributed services, RESTful APIs and microservices built on AWS, with experience in AWS Lambda (using the boto3 library) and serverless design.
• Cloud Skills: Experience working with high volume heterogenous data and preferably distributed systems like Spark, building cloud-native systems using AWS services at an enterprise level with a learning mindset.
• Best Practices: Knowledge of Object Oriented Programming (OOP) and design patterns and excellent code and technical documentation as well as experience with code review.
• CI/CD & Automation: Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, with experience in building and deploying CI/CD pipelines (preferably using Azure DevOps).
• Data Governance: Knowledge about data governance, data access and data storage techniques
• Testing Framework: Experience in testing framework
• Security: Familiarity with AWS security best practices (MFA, encryption, user roles & policies).

Nice to Have:

• Containerization: Experience in building and deploying container services (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS Fargate).
• Data Tools: Experience with Iceberg and Snowflake.
• Familiarity with Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK for infrastructure automation.
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases.

This role can be hired in Portugal and Poland, in addition to Spain.
