The International Customer Success Unit (iCSU) turns Global Account strategy into local execution. We provide customer success services that accelerate value realization for Microsoft’s most strategic, innovative, complex and globally operating customers. Join our expanding and culturally diverse iCSU EMEA team as a Cloud Solution Architect for Cloud & AI Data and help us deliver globally coordinated, connected customer experiences in the Era of AI. We’re looking for a Cloud Solution Architect (CSA) focused on data solutions to help our globally operating enterprise customers build unified, governed, secure and AI-ready data estates on Microsoft Azure. In this customer-facing role, you’ll work with the global entities of geographically distributed enterprise customers to design and deliver data platform, analytics and database solutions that enable production-scale AI and agent scenarios. You’ll lead technical engagements across architecture design, proof of concepts and production deployments to move customers from data foundation to sustainable business outcomes. As part of the iCSU EMEA Cloud & AI team, you’ll help customers grow data platform adoption, improve workload health, resiliency, security and capacity, and unlock value from Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, Data Governance Solutions, Databases and Microsoft IQ – to power the knowledge of trusted AI solutions.

This opportunity will allow you to:

• deepen your data and AI expertise, from lakehouse and analytics architecture to governance, security and AI-ready data foundations, across complex, multi-geo enterprises;
• develop business acumen by linking data platform decisions to measurable customer value and consumption growth; and
• grow as a trusted technical advisor by leading engagements with international customer and Microsoft teams.

Responsibilities

• Engage customer IT and business leaders to understand data estates, AI priorities, governance needs, success measures and business outcomes; design secure, scalable Cloud & AI Data solutions for unified, governed, AI-ready estates.
• Lead architecture design, create Data & AI platform roadmaps, and drive POCs, pilots and production milestones across analytics, database, Fabric, Foundry, Microsoft IQ and agent-enabled scenarios.
• Own technical delivery for your engagements, partnering with other technical and non-technical roles to ensure Azure consumption and customer ambitions are planned and met.
• Use and contribute repeatable IP, templates, frameworks and agents to accelerate deployment, improve consistency, grow Data share and support Azure consumption outcomes.
• Lead workload health, resiliency, sovereignty, security, capacity management and optimization for mission-critical data workloads and production-scale AI and agent use cases.
• Resolve technical blockers and adoption issues and share customer and field feedback with product and engineering teams to improve platform readiness and outcomes.
• Maintain advanced proficiency in priority workloads, including Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, Data Governance Solutions, Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cosmos DB and Microsoft IQ, together with market and competitive insights; demonstrate a growth mindset by contributing to communities, sharing reusable learnings and mentoring others.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AND experience in cloud, data platform, analytics, database, AI, or infrastructure technologies, information technology (IT) consulting/support, systems administration, data engineering, database administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting
• OR equivalent experience
• Proven hands-on experience designing and implementing enterprise data platforms (lakehouse, analytics, database) on Azure with at least one of Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL or Azure Database for PostgreSQL.
• Business fluency in English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a customer-facing role with internal and/or external customers.
• Experience contributing to or delivering technical projects.
• Relevant technical certification in cloud, data, analytics, database, AI, or security technologies, such as Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, Microsoft Purview, Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Azure Cosmos DB, or an equivalent certification.
• Hands-on experience building and optimizing data-intensive solutions, including applying AI-assisted development approaches alongside technical knowledge and judgment.
• Experience contributing to the design or delivery of a trusted data foundation for agentic AI applications.
• Experience working with globally distributed customers or stakeholders and coordinating delivery across countries, time zones, and cultures.

Cloud Solution Architecture IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across United Kingdom is £ 61,900.00 - £ 105,500.00 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.

Cloud Solution Architecture IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across Netherlands is € 65,100.00 - € 110,000.00 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
