Job Description

LERETA is seeking a skilled Cloud Solution Architect to join the cloud team and contribute to the company’s ongoing cloud transformation efforts. The Cloud Solution Architect will be responsible for developing a platform that enables developers to seamlessly migrate legacy applications to the cloud. This role will ensure the creation of a scalable, resilient infrastructure that not only meets the current business needs but also supports long-term growth and innovation. At LERETA, the Cloud Solution Architect will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of cloud development, working with a team dedicated to advancing technology and driving impactful changes.

  • Learns when appropriate about new tools that will help with DX for LERETA or ease our cloud burden
  • Attends trainings or conferences when appropriate to expand on cloud knowledge
  • Interacts through knowledge sharing with developer, operations, or SRE staff

Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing

  • Participates in Architecture Review Board (ARB) as reliability consultant
  • Mentors COG team on operational best practices for focuses on application portability using containers and container orchestration patterns
  • Collaborates with Cloud team on infrastructure reliability, scalability and other non-functional requirements for existing products
  • Creates detailed plans with time sensitive deadlines to accomplish goals and to assist in a transformational culture shift in the organization

Day to Day Activities

  • Works with SRE, COG and other engineering stakeholders to ensure that the CEG (Cloud Engineering Group) is building the appropriate feature and automation when needed
  • Sets backlog with SRE and operational customers
  • Manages team that will be building your vision ensure predictable on-time delivery
  • Mentors and guidse more junior engineers
  • Provides updates to Cloud leadership on goals and project status
  • Works with Enterprise architect to install technical governance for the organization
  • Reports out occasionally to C-Level executives on project plans
  • Reports out annually to department on goals and wins for the year.
  • Provides weekly metrics to establish SLE (Service Level Expectations) and flow rate of the team

This position will perform other duties as assigned based on the needs of the department.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Systems Engineering Deep Linux/Windows system administration and troubleshooting
  • Scripting & Automation Strong proficiency in Python, PowerShell, Bash, or Go
  • Monitoring & Observability Hands-on experience with Datadog (preferred), Prometheus, Grafana, or similar
  • Container Orchestration Experience with Kubernetes (AKS), Docker, container troubleshooting
  • CI/CD Pipelines Understanding of Azure DevOps Pipelines (preferred) or similar CI/CD platforms; GitOps experience with FluxCD (preferred) or ArgoCD
  • Cloud Platforms Strong knowledge of Azure services (App Services, Functions, Storage, KeyVault, Cosmos DB, AKS) preferred, or other major cloud providers (AWS, GCP)
  • Performance Analysis Ability to analyze and optimize application and infrastructure performance
  • Incident Management Experience with incident response processes and tooling

  • Understanding of large-scale applications that are monolithic in nature
  • Understanding of Mainframe environments with regards to NaturalOne, JCL (Job Control Language), AS400, VSE Mainframe, Linux experience with regards to Adabas
  • Containerization orchestration experience (Kubernetes, Apache Mesos or Hashicorp Nomad) with strategy focused on simplified management operations
  • GitOps

Salary range: $118,220 - $157,627
