Peraton is seeking a talented Cloud Software Engineer to join our elite Cyber Missions team, where you’ll build and sustain mission-critical cloud solutions that make a real impact. In this role, you’ll work at a high level of technical independence while collaborating with a team of experts tackling complex, high-value challenges.
As a Cloud Software Engineer, you’ll be involved across the full software lifecycle—from requirements analysis and design to development, integration, testing, deployment, and ongoing optimization. You’ll design resilient, scalable cloud solutions that thoughtfully balance cost, performance, availability, and security, ensuring systems are both powerful and dependable.
You’ll also have opportunities to influence technical direction by evaluating project needs, defining tasks and timelines, and producing high-quality designs. As a senior contributor, you’ll help mentor and guide junior engineers, sharing your expertise and fostering strong engineering practices across the team.
What You’ll Do:
Design, develop, and maintain cloud-based software solutions
Solve complex technical challenges with a focus on reliability and performance
Lead or contribute to architecture and design reviews
Support integration, testing, troubleshooting, and system enhancements
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
Help shape project scope, schedules, and technical approaches

Required Qualifications:
6+ years of hands-on software development experience across the full lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, integration, testing, deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field (e.g., Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering)
In lieu of a degree, an additional 4 years of relevant experience may be substituted
Active TS/SCI clearance with current polygraph
Cloud Developer Certification (required) — one or more of the following:
AWS Certified Developer – Associate
AWS DevOps Engineer – Professional
Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
Elastic Certified Engineer

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
