We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Platform Engineer to drive critical platform uplifts within our AWS environment. This role is focused on modernising legacy infrastructure, taking applications that were originally "lifted and shifted" and re-architecting them into true cloud-native solutions. You will work in a high-demand, high-throughput environment, leveraging your deep AWS knowledge to increase availability, streamline services, and reduce operational costs.

Key Responsibilities

• Platform Uplift: Lead the transformation of legacy, lift-and-shift environments into modern, scalable cloud architectures.
• High-Performance Engineering: Design and maintain AWS environments capable of handling high Transactions Per Second (TPS) loads seamlessly.
• Cloud Optimisation: Leverage native AWS capabilities and services to streamline operations, reduce compute costs, and drive system efficiency.
• Architecture Standards: Bring a strong familiarity with the 12-Factor App principles, including implementing them in a practical way across all platform engineering efforts to ensure statelessness, scalability, and resilience.
• Availability: Architect and implement solutions with a focus on maximum uptime, striving toward 5 9s (99.999%) availability where required.
• Migrations: Support and execute complex environment migrations with minimal disruption to business operations.

What We Want From You

• Mandatory experience engineering and operating high-performance platforms with high TPS loads.
• Deep expertise in AWS products and services, with a proven track record of cost and performance optimisation.
• Strong understanding of 12-Factor App principles and cloud-native design patterns.
• Bonus: Proven experience executing complex environment migrations.
• Bonus: Experience designing architectures that achieve 5 9s availability.
