We are seeking a Cloud Operations Manager to provide senior technical leadership and operational ownership of our enterprise cloud and hybrid platforms, supporting Tier 0 systems that underpin clinical, aged care and research services across Australia.
This is ahandsonleadership role combining deep technicalexpertisein Microsoft Azure with people leadership, operationalexcellenceand continuous improvement.
The role
Reporting to the Head of Cloud, you will:
Own thedaytodayoperations of SVHA’s enterprise cloud and hybrid platforms
Lead and mentor a team of cloud,infrastructureand systems engineers
Act as the technical escalation point for complex incidents and platform outages
Ensure platforms are secure, resilient,observableand compliant (ISO27001, Essential Eight, SOCI)
Drive automation, monitoring uplift,patchingand lifecycle management
Partner closely with cybersecurity, networks,applicationsand clinical stakeholders
Lead vendor engagements and support disaster recovery,backupand resilience planning
Contribute to cloud strategy, migrationinitiativesand digital health transformation programs
You’llplay a critical role in ensuring technology platforms supporting patient care are robust, reliable andfutureready
About you
You are a senior cloud practitioner and people leader with experience operatingmissioncriticalenvironments. You bring:
8–10 years’ experience in cloud or infrastructure operations
Deepexpertisein Microsoft Azure and hybrid environments
Proven experience supporting Tier 0 / 24×7 systems in regulated orhighavailabilityenvironments
Strong skills in automation and scripting (Terraform, PowerShell, Bicep, Python)
Solid understanding of security, identity,backupand disaster recovery
Excellent stakeholder, incidentmanagementand vendor management capability
Relevant certifications (e.g. Azure Administrator, Solutions Architect, Security Engineer)
Experience in healthcare, aged care or other regulated environments is highly regarded.

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.
We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.
With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.
We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
When it comes to training and research we partner with the very best. Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville. Together, we are committed to improving the health outcomes for children today and in the future.
In 2016–17, more than 85,654 children attended our Emergency Department, 322,291 specialist clinic appointments were held which was almost 70,000 more than the previous year, more than 17,000 surgeries were performed and more than 48,552 children were admitted to our wards.
