Mission

The Cloud Operations Engineer will be responsible for supporting the design, deployment, automation, operation and continuous improvement of Grifols’ cloud platforms and services across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

This role will contribute to the successful execution of the company’s cloud transformation initiatives, including Journey to Cloud programs, cloud migrations, infrastructure modernization, automation, Kubernetes adoption and Infrastructure as Code practices.

The position will work closely with IT Infrastructure, Architecture, Cybersecurity, Application teams, Service Management and external partners to ensure that cloud services are reliable, secure, scalable, cost-efficient and aligned with business, compliance and operational requirements.

What your responsibilities will be

  • Cloud Operations and Platform Engineering
    • Operate, maintain and continuously improve cloud environments across Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services AWS, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
    • Support the deployment and management of cloud infrastructure, including compute, storage, networking, identity, security and monitoring services.
    • Ensure cloud platforms are available, secure, resilient and aligned with operational standards.
    • Participate in the definition and evolution of cloud operating models, standards, guardrails and best practices.
    • Support hybrid cloud scenarios and integration between on-premises infrastructure and public cloud platforms.
    • Contribute to the adoption of cloud-native technologies and modern infrastructure practices.
  • Infrastructure as Code and Automation
    • Design, develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or equivalent automation frameworks.
    • Automate repetitive operational tasks to improve efficiency, consistency and reliability.
    • Contribute to the creation of reusable cloud modules, templates and deployment patterns.
    • Support CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment and cloud platform changes.
    • Promote automation-first principles within Cloud Operations and infrastructure teams.
  • Kubernetes and Container Platforms
    • Operate and support Kubernetes-based platforms, including managed Kubernetes services such as Azure Kubernetes Service AKS and Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service EKS.
    • Support containerized workloads, platform reliability, cluster lifecycle management and integration with cloud-native services.
    • Collaborate with application and DevOps teams to enable secure and scalable container adoption.
    • Support monitoring, logging, backup, security and operational governance for Kubernetes environments.
  • Journey to Cloud and Cloud Migration
    • Participate in cloud migration and modernization initiatives, supporting assessment, planning, execution and post-migration optimization.
    • Collaborate with architecture and application teams to evaluate workload readiness, migration patterns and landing zone requirements.
    • Support the migration of workloads from on-premises platforms to cloud environments.
    • Contribute to reducing technical debt and improving infrastructure standardization.
    • Identify risks, dependencies and operational impacts during migration activities.
  • FinOps and Cost Optimization
    • Monitor cloud consumption and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
    • Support tagging, reporting, budgeting and cost visibility practices.
    • Collaborate with Procurement, Finance and technical teams to improve cloud cost governance.
    • Recommend optimization actions while maintaining performance, security and availability.
    • Promote responsible cloud consumption across teams and projects.

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Solid experience in cloud infrastructure, cloud operations, systems engineering or platform engineering roles.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services AWS required, with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure OCI as a strong plus.
  • Experience operating cloud environments in enterprise, regulated or complex IT organisations.
  • Experience participating in cloud migration, infrastructure modernisation or Journey to Cloud initiatives.
  • Practical experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and container platforms, preferably AKS and/or EKS.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD concepts and automation pipelines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish.

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional.
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator.
  • HashiCorp Terraform Associate.
  • ITIL Foundation certification.
