About the Role

The Cloud Operations Consultant will provide day-to-day support to all AIA business units using AIA’s Azure public cloud platform including but not limited to incident-, change-, request- and problem management. This role focuses on leveraging azure services administration tasks and optimizing cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Manage and administer the Microsoft Azure cloud environment, including provisioning, configuration, performance monitoring, policy governance which are more demanding and complex
  • Analyze existing operational standards, processes, and/or governance to identify and implement improvements.
  • Support cloud adoption of applications as they are being transformed and/or modernized.
  • Work as part of 24/7 shift roster to implement changes and requests and resolve incidents.
  • Provide training and support to team members.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve cloud-related issues and Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders.
  • Provide technical support and guidance.

Financial Measures:

  • Optimize cloud infrastructure costs through efficient resource management and automation.

Non-Financial Measures:

  • Achieve high availability and reliability targets for cloud services.
  • Ensure timely resolution of cloud infrastructure issues and incidents.
  • Maintain compliance with security and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including architecture teams, security teams, other operational teams and senior management.
  • Provide regular updates on cloud operations performance, issues, and improvements.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to ensure the delivery of high-quality cloud services.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English to facilitate clear and concise communication.

Experience:

  • 5+ years relevant experience in Cloud Engineering / Support role
  • Excellent understanding and proven experience in Public Cloud implementation, workload migration and operational support in a multi-site enterprise environment
  • Relevant professional certifications (Azure, AWS, ITIL etc)
  • Practical experience of supporting Enterprise Public Cloud Services and automation
  • Experience within a decentralized organization, preferably within the Group unit.
  • Sound understanding of IT operating model design and best practices.
  • Experience in top tier multinational corporation will be an advantage.
  • Liaise with service providers to ensure that operational processes (backup, patching, provisioning, monitoring) for service follow-up and incident management.

Strong experience in Azure PaaS and platform services, including:

  • Application & Integration: Azure App Services, Azure Function Apps, API Management, Event Hubs, Event Grid, Service Bus
  • Data & Analytics: Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Azure Power BI
  • Caching & Storage: Azure Cache for Redis, Azure File Share
  • Networking: Application Gateway, Network Load Balancer
  • Monitoring & Observability: Application Insights, Log Analytics Workspace
  • Resiliency & Protection: Azure Site Recovery, Azure Backup
