Job Description


As a Cloud-Native Developer, you will:

  • Design, implement, and enhance cloud-native software components primarily in Python, focusing on scalability, performance, and maintainability.

  • Contribute to upstream OpenStack and related open-source tools and services.

  • Fix bugs, resolve incidents, and implement changes in critical production environments.

  • Write and maintain unit, functional, and integration tests to ensure code quality.

  • Deploy services to Kubernetes, including Helm chart creation and CRD/operator development.

  • Monitor and improve observability using logs, metrics, and alerts (e.g., Prometheus, Perses).

  • Support production systems through troubleshooting and on-call rotations as needed.

  • Maintain technical documentation and follow Agile development practices including sprint planning, code reviews, and backlog grooming.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver highly available and resilient cloud infrastructure.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • 6–8 years of professional software development experience with strong proficiency in Python (minimum 3 years), including async IO, design patterns, and packaging.

  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, deploying applications, Helm chart authoring, and CRD/operator development.

  • Solid understanding of CICD pipelines and DevOps workflows.

  • Proficiency with Git/GitHub or similar version control platforms.

  • Knowledge of cloud platforms, especially OpenStack; exposure to AWS or Azure is a plus.

  • Optional but beneficial: experience with observability stacks, contributing to open-source projects, understanding distributed systems, or familiarity with Go.

You should possess the ability to:

  • Develop and maintain cloud-native infrastructure components in Python.

  • Deploy and operate applications in Kubernetes environments reliably.

  • Troubleshoot complex issues in production cloud environments.

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver resilient, high-quality software.

  • Contribute to both internal and upstream open-source projects where applicable.
