You'll join a highly collaborative architecture organization responsible for guiding technology decisions across infrastructure, cloud, platform, and application domains. This role offers the opportunity to help drive M&T's ongoing transformation from legacy data center environments to modern cloud platforms. You will work across a diverse technology landscape and partner with application owners, developers, and engineering teams to architect solutions that support some of the bank's most critical technology initiatives.
Rather than focusing on a single application or platform, you'll have the opportunity to influence architectural decisions across multiple domains while working with both established and emerging technologies. This position provides broad exposure to enterprise-scale cloud, infrastructure, and modernization initiatives and a chance to make a meaningful impact on the future state of the bank's technology ecosystem.
Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant work experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 9 year's higher education and/or relevant work experience
Successful candidates will combine strong technical expertise with exceptional collaboration and communication skills. The ideal candidate has experience designing end-to-end technology solutions, creating architecture documentation and technical diagrams, and partnering with stakeholders throughout the solution lifecycle.
Individuals who thrive in this role are naturally curious, adaptable, and comfortable working across both modern cloud environments and complex legacy ecosystems. They can evaluate multiple solution options, articulate technical tradeoffs, and deliver architecture designs that balance business needs, technical requirements, scalability, security, and operational excellence.

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $116,400.00 - $194,000.00 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
