About the job

As the Cloud Infrastructure Engineer you are responsible for the development of new and maintenance of existing Cloud Infrastructure within the Easyfairs Group. Together with other Cloud Infrastructure Engineers, you will work with application developers and administrators to continue evolving our scalable infrastructure and platform landscape in the Cloud, as well as assist with the modernisation of existing application infrastructure, bringing it in line with Cloud native standards. You will have the opportunity to contribute to setting up technical and organisational infrastructure to ensure coordination within the Group.

This is a hybrid position to be based in our head office in Brussels, Belgium.

In your role

  • ·You will manage and develop GCP and Azure-based cloud infrastructure, including VMs, Kubernetes clusters, IAM accounts and roles, using primarily tools such as Terraform, Packer and Helm.

  • ·You will contribute to development of DevOps on the organisational and technical level , CICD pipelines and observability.

  • ·You will assist system responsibles and application developers in troubleshooting incidents.

Your foundational skills

  • ·You have a deep understanding of the basic stack of at least one Cloud provider, such as GCP, Azure or AWS – including networking, IAM, and container solutions.

  • ·You have a good grasp of Linux VM system administration.

  • ·You are proficient in at least one programming and scripting language such as Python to automate your work, and are able to troubleshoot and debug applications.

  • ·You are an excellent communicator, written and verbal, in English.

  • ·You like to work in a team and communicate your progress, synchronously and asynchronously.

  • ·You are proactive and can work largely independently.

  • ·You have an eagerness to learn new technologies and can mentor more junior team members.

  • ·You have at least 3 years experience in a similar role.

You will have an advantage if you possess some of the following

  • ·Experience in Google Cloud Platform and Azure.

  • ·Experience in CICD and GitOps.

  • ·You are proficient in Terraform, Helm and Kubernetes. Other frameworks like Ansible are a plus.

  • ·Experience working with web servers such as NGINX or Apache.

  • ·Experience managing, designing and optimising relational SQL databases such as Postgres, MySQL.
