In this role, you'll:
Support Transport for NSW by building and maintaining secure, reliable and scalable cloud platforms that enable digital transformation and efficient service delivery across the organisation.
The role focuses on cloud infrastructure build and support, automation, monitoring, security compliance and cloud migration, working in complex hybrid environments while balancing innovation with strict government standards and operational stability.

About you
The Cloud Engineer (Automation) delivers assigned cloud work, sets day to day priorities with their manager, and operates without direct reports. The role focuses on reliable, compliant and efficient cloud operations within approved TfNSW governance and financial delegations.
The role centres on automating cloud infrastructure and platforms across Azure, AWS or similar environments using Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines. Key responsibilities include deploying, monitoring and optimising automated cloud systems while ensuring security, performance, resilience and cost efficiency in complex enterprise environments.
Success relies on strong integrity, collaboration and accountability, combined with advanced use of technology to reduce manual effort and manage risk. The Cloud Engineer applies problem solving, continuous improvement and customer focus to embed automation as a core enabler of secure, scalable cloud services.
