An important part of the Toyota family is Toyota Financial Services (TFS), the finance and insurance brand for Toyota and Lexus in North America. While TFS is a separate business entity, it is an essential part of this world-changing company- delivering on Toyota's vision to move people beyond what's possible. At TFS, you will help create best-in-class customer experience in an innovative, collaborative environment.

Toyota does not offer support or sponsorship of job applicants for employment-based visas or any other work authorization for this role now or in the future. You must have the right to work in the United States and not require Toyota support or sponsorship for immigration-related employment (e.g., H-1B, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 STEM OPT, F-1 CPT, ‘job flexibility benefits’ [also known as I-140 or Adjustment of Status portability], etc.) now or in the future. You should not apply for this role if you will require Toyota to assist with immigration support or sponsorship now or in the future.

Who We're Looking For

Toyota Financial Services (TFS) is seeking a cloud engineer for its Cloud Governance team.

The primary responsibility of this role is to design and deliver secure, automated AWS governance capabilities across cloud cost management, compliance, controls, and resource lifecycle management.

You will help turn cloud standards into practical engineering solutions, trusted data, and actionable reporting for engineering and business stakeholders.

What you’ll be doing

Design, implement, and operate scalable AWS governance solutions using infrastructure as code and automation.

Build and improve cloud cost-management and FinOps capabilities, using data analytics to produce accurate, useful cost insights and business intelligence reporting.

Develop and maintain data pipelines and analytics using services such as AWS Athena and AWS Glue, and deliver dashboards and reports with Amazon QuickSight.

Implement and improve cloud policies, preventive and detective controls, account governance, and security/compliance automation.

Contribute to AWS Organizations, Service Control Policies (SCPs), AWS Config, and Control Tower governance patterns.

Automate cloud operations and lifecycle activities, including resource optimization and remediation.

Establish and promote engineering standards for Terraform, Python, source control, CI/CD, testing, documentation, and operational readiness.

Evaluate and productionize technologies that improve the security, cost efficiency, reliability, and operability of the cloud environment.

Collaborate with engineers, risk and compliance partners, and business stakeholders; communicate designs and decisions through architecture documentation and technical guidance.

Provide technical leadership through hands-on delivery, sound engineering judgment, and mentorship.

What You Bring

3+ years of cloud engineering experience, including hands-on work in AWS environments.

2+ years of hands-on DevOps, platform engineering, or cloud automation experience.

1+ year of software development or scripting experience using Python, Bash, or a comparable language.

Strong AWS fundamentals, including IAM, networking, and secure, highly available, resilient cloud architecture.

Proficiency with Terraform and experience implementing infrastructure as code in a production environment.

Experience with Git-based source control, CI/CD, automated testing, and maintainable technical documentation.

Experience in FinOps or cloud cost management supported by data analytics, including AWS Athena and SQL, AWS Glue, and Amazon QuickSight or comparable BI reporting tools.

Ability to work independently, collaborate across teams, and explain technical concepts to varied audiences.

Added Bonus If You Have

AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate certification.

Deeper FinOps experience, including AWS Cost and Usage Reports (CUR), cost allocation, forecasting, optimization, or showback/chargeback.

Experience with Open Policy Agent (OPA) and Rego for policy-as-code.

Experience with Cloud Custodian for cloud governance, compliance, or automated remediation.

Experience with AWS Organizations, SCPs, AWS Config, or Control Tower.

Experience with AWS Lambda or other serverless services for governance automation.

Experience supporting risk management, audit evidence, security compliance, or cloud control frameworks.

Additional relevant AWS, cloud, security, data, or FinOps certifications.
