The Amatriot Group is seeking an AWS Cloud Engineer to support and maintain enterprise cloud environments supporting mission-critical applications. This role will focus on AWS infrastructure, Linux administration, cloud security, automation, monitoring, and compliance initiatives within a highly available production environment.
Key Responsibilities
AWS Infrastructure and Systems Administration
- Deploy, maintain, and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure supporting production and development environments.
- Administer and support Linux-based systems within AWS.
- Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure, operating system, networking, and security-related issues.
Cloud Security and Compliance
- Implement and maintain cloud security controls, access management, encryption solutions, and system hardening practices.
- Support compliance initiatives and security frameworks, including implementation and maintenance of controls aligned with NIST 800-53 requirements.
- Assist with Authorization to Operate efforts through continuous monitoring, auditing, and documentation activities.
Automation, Monitoring, and Operations
- Develop and maintain infrastructure automation and configuration management solutions.
- Monitor system health, performance, and availability using centralized logging and monitoring tools.
Collaboration and Documentation
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, engineering, and operations teams to support mission requirements and operational objectives.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, system configurations, and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, or 7 years of relevant experience with no degree.
- Advanced certifications, specialized training, or equivalent hands-on experience may be considered in lieu of years of experience.
Experience
- Experience with Linux administration and troubleshooting.
- Experience working with AWS services such as EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, AWS Config, and KMS.
Skills
- Understanding of cloud security best practices, access control, encryption, and compliance requirements.
- Working knowledge of networking concepts, including routing, firewalls, VPNs, and cloud networking.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Clearance
- Active Top Secret security clearance is required, with willingness and ability to obtain a CI polygraph.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting NIST 800-53 security controls, RMF processes, or ATO activities.
- Familiarity with continuous monitoring, centralized logging, and configuration management practices.
- Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar technologies.
- Scripting experience with Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages.
- Familiarity with AWS security and compliance services.
- Experience supporting highly available, large-scale AWS environments.
- AWS certifications are a plus.
