Job Description

Cloud Platform Engineer (Azure)

T he Cloud Platform Engineer is an experienced cloud engineering professional responsible for independently designing, implementing, optimizing, and supporting Microsoft Azure platform solutions across the enterprise. This role owns a defined domain within the Azure ecosystem and plays a key part in driving technical excellence, platform reliability, scalability, security, and cost efficiency.

As a trusted engineering contributor, you will influence technical decisions, strengthen operational maturity, and continuously improve the stability and performance of our cloud environments. You will collaborate closely with Cloud Architects, DevSecOps Engineers, and Software Engineers to deliver secure, resilient, and scalable cloud-native and hybrid solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards and governance frameworks.



Responsibilities

  • Design and implement Azure cloud platform solutions.
  • Own day-to-day engineering activities across Azure infrastructure and cloud-native services.
  • Provision, manage, and troubleshoot Azure platform components including networking, identity, compute, storage, Kubernetes, and serverless capabilities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex platform issues.
  • Deliver and maintain Azure cloud solutions using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and declarative provisioning practices.
  • Implement and maintain scalable, resilient, and highly available Azure platform services aligned with enterprise cloud standards
  • Implement containerized workloads and support microservices architectures within Azure.
  • Deploy and maintain Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters including networking, storage, scaling, and security configurations.
  • Support architecture, capacity, performance, resiliency, and lifecycle planning across Azure environments.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, standards, guardrails, and support procedures for Azure environments.
  • Optimize Azure cloud resources for performance and cost efficiency through rightsizing, autoscaling, and FinOps-aligned practices.
  • Contribute to disaster recovery, backup, and high-availability strategies to maintain operational resilience.
  • Contribute to automation, monitoring, and service improvement efforts.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and observability solutions to enable proactive incident detection and operational excellence.
  • Participate in Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) initiatives by sharing best practices and driving standardization.
  • Provide guidance to less experienced engineers as needed.
  • Partner with stakeholders to support project and operational objectives.

Candidates Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert.
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in Cloud Engineering or Platform Engineering roles in enterprise environments.
  • Experience supporting hybrid cloud architectures integrating on-premises with Azure.
  • Experience contributing to enterprise cloud governance and platform standardization initiatives.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
