Cloud Engineer – Management On-Premise Platform

Location: Arnhem, Netherlands (Hybrid)
Work Model: Hybrid – Minimum 2 days onsite per week (Wednesday mandatory)
Hours per Week: 32–38 Hours
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: Until 28 February 2027
Experience Required: 5+ Years

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer to support the management, stability, optimization, and modernization of an existing enterprise data platform. The role focuses on maintaining Linux-based environments, supporting cloud-native transitions, and driving automation to reduce manual operational work.

You will work within a multidisciplinary Scrum team responsible for managing and further developing the current data platform while contributing to migration initiatives toward modern cloud-native solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  Manage, maintain, and optimize Hadoop and Kubernetes environments
• 
  Monitor platform stability, performance, and availability
• 
  Troubleshoot and resolve technical incidents and disruptions
• 
  Develop scripts and automations using Bash and Python
• 
  Implement technical improvements across applications and processes
• 
  Support data migration and cloud-native transition initiatives
• 
  Assist with network connectivity management and maintenance
• 
  Participate in Agile ceremonies including stand-ups and refinements
• 
  Collaborate with Cloud Engineers, Data Engineers, Architects, Infrastructure Engineers, and Product Owners

Required Skills & Experience

• 
  Strong experience with Kubernetes
• 
  Experience working in Linux-based environments
• 
  Basic scripting experience with Bash and Python
• 
  Experience with or knowledge of Hadoop
• 
  Experience working within enterprise environments
• 
  Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
• 
  Excellent collaboration and communication skills

Nice to Have

• 
  Experience with Terraform and Ansible
• 
  Knowledge of Packer
• 
  Experience with cloud-native technologies and automation
• 
  Experience with data migration projects
