Imagine a future where you shape global growth with digital technology while creating a world that runs entirely on green energy
Join us in this role where you will be at the heart of Ørsted’s AWS platform engineering capability, designing, building, and operating shared cloud services that support more than 700 AWS accounts across the organisation.
Together with your colleagues, you will develop and operate automated platform capabilities that cover the full cloud lifecycle, from networking and account governance to identity, backup, and cost optimisation. Your work will enable product and application teams to move faster while operating in a secure, well‑governed, and cost‑efficient AWS environment.
This is a hands‑on, collaborative role, where you work closely with engineers, product teams, and platform colleagues to continuously improve and scale a shared AWS platform.
Welcome to Information Security
You’ll be part of AWS Platform Engineering, where you and your colleagues design and operate a centralised AWS platform that supports product and application teams across the organisation.
As a team, we focus on reliability, scalability, and automation, continuously improving our platform capabilities and staying up to date with AWS services and best practices. Together, we create robust, developer‑friendly cloud foundations that enable the business to deliver value securely and efficiently.
You’ll play an important role in:
Designing building and operating AWS platform components using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / CloudFormation)
Developing and operating a centralized AWS networking architecture, including VPCs, subnets, routing, Transit Gateway, DNS, and hybrid connectivity
Delivering core platform capabilities such as account management (AWS Control Tower & AFT), IAM, Backup, Migration tools, and centralized logging
Automating platform and service onboarding using GitHub and CI/CD pipelines
Building and operating bespoke AWS Backup solutions and bespoke IAM models
Supporting cost‑efficient use of AWS services, applying right‑sizing and platform standards.
To succeed in the role, you:
Have strong hands‑on AWS expertise, particularly in multi‑account and enterprise environments
Have experience building and operating cloud platforms, not just individual workloads
Have solid domain knowledge in AWS networking, including VPC design, routing, Transit Gateway, and hybrid connectivity
Have experience with AWS Control Tower and account governance at scale is an advantage
Have food understanding of IAM concepts, including roles, policies, and access patterns
Have working knowledge of cost optimization and efficient use of AWS services.
Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.

Ørsted is the global leader in offshore wind power and is one of the largest renewable energy companies in the world.
Within a decade, we transformed from being one of Europe’s most fossil fuel-intensive utilities to being ranked as one of the most sustainable energy companies in the world. Today, we’re guided by a clear vision: to create a world that runs entirely on green energy.
We provide countries, companies, and communities with sustainable, reliable, and cost-competitive energy solutions, including offshore and onshore wind, solar, renewable hydrogen, and energy storage. We built the world’s first offshore wind farm back in 1991, and with over 2,000 turbines at sea, we’ve installed more offshore wind capacity than anyone else. In total, we own or operate over 17 GW of renewable energy capacity across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.
We know that to build renewable energy at pace and scale, we must build it right. We commit to developing and operating our assets in harmony with nature and in line with the need for science-based climate action. We prioritise integrity and safety in our operations, and we respect the human rights and diverse values of every employee and stakeholder.
As a global renewable energy leader, we leverage the curiosity and passion of our people to innovate and take new or existing technologies to scale, collaborating with governments, suppliers, and our industry partners to make green energy solutions a reality.
