In this role, you'll:

Be working across multiple projects, the Cloud DevOps Engineer will assist senior engineers with tasks pertaining to the design and development of cloud infrastructure solutions, primarily built upon cloud computing services and open source frameworks. Working in a cross-functional team, the role will support developers in the delivery of technology solutions, using continuous delivery methodologies, and with a focus on test driven development and automation.

Duties and responsibilities also include (not limited to):

  • Working collaboratively within a project team to streamline workflows and release processes to support the design, build and maintenance of cloud infrastructure solutions for Transport for NSW
  • Providing problem analysis to support development of high quality, robust and secure infrastructure/software solutions that meet business and customer expectations
  • Monitoring capabilities and diagnostics to maintain business continuity and ensure maximum uptime of web applications
  • Performing code review and analysis as required to identify faults or complications to support validity, efficiency and consistency of newly developed software and infrastructure systems
  • Providing support for the deployment of component packages and applications to ensure successful import of packages into environments
  • Modelling collegiate and collaborative behaviours to achieve the greater good for the community, celebrate a diverse workforce, create an environment where people can innovate and thrive, and support people’s wellbeing

About you

For you to be successful within this role you should meet with all, or most of the following criteria:

  • At least 3 years' experience performing a similar role (as described above), with at least one of those years working within the cloud
  • Software and/or Engineering Bachelor’s Degree
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of infrastructure as code, DevOps and CI/CD methodologies, e.g., GitHub, Gitlab, Jenkins, and/or Ansible
  • Experience with a range of build automation tools, software repositories, and scripting languages
  • Strong understanding of secure coding practices, and website security
  • Prior experience working within an agile driven environment

Preferred, but not essential:

  • Experience within a consultancy environment, with exposure to diverse projects and technologies, and/or experience in the financial services sector
  • AWS Cloud Certification (or similar accredited cloud certification)

This is a permanent flexible hybrid role. 50% of your time will be office based, from our offices in Sydney’s CBD.
