
Leidos had a career opening for a Cloud Database Systems Architect.
Our capability incubation team is a specialized, agile unit within our CTO team focused on rapidly conducting proof of concepts, developing, testing, and maturing new business concepts and technologies including cloud migrations. It bridges the gap between ideation and formal validation before integration ready for production deployment using iterative short-cycles (2–4 weeks on average, 1-3 months for larger projects).
Key Responsibilities include
•Identifying and exploring industry database, storage, archiving and other data management solutions
•Recommending database and storage solution options to solve the defined problems / opportunities
•Planning, designing and implementing cloud based database solution including RDS, No SQL, Aurora, DynamoDB etc
•Creating and implementing scripts to automate deployment processes using tools like Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation
•Ensuring all cloud database environments meet security standards and compliance requirements
•Planning and executing the migration of existing on-premises databases to the cloud.
•Developing the High-Level Designs
•Architecting hybrid-cloud solutions
•Evaluating new technologies and staying current with a broad range of industry solutions
•Documenting the assessment method and evaluation results
•Onboarding POC vendors including but not limited to risk assessment, compliance assessment and remediation plans/ investments required to make the solution viable
•Developer-focused mindset enabling custom integrations
•Strong requirements gathering and understanding skills driving the design of large systems for global use
•Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders enabling consistent messaging and detailed requirements
•Global cloud deployment of multiple levels (GCC, GovCloud, Commercial, etc)
Experience
•BS degree and 12+ years of experience. Additional years experience ay be used in lie of a degree.
•5+ years’ experience designing new solutions and 10+ industry experience
•Background as an engineer
•Health industry experiences an advantage
•Cloud multi-governance level experience (GCC, OCI, GovCloud, Commercial, etc)
•Azure and AWS experience
•Oracle and SQL experience
•Cloud database experience

Pay Range $131,300.00 - $237,350.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
