The Cloud Data Delivery Manager plays a key role in leading the end-to-end delivery of TAL’s cloud data initiatives, enabling reporting, analytics, operational insights and AI-driven outcomes. This role is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination and governance of cloud data programs, products and platform initiatives, including the migration of legacy and heritage databases to modern cloud environments. It ensures delivery is well sequenced, dependencies are actively managed, and risks are identified and addressed early, while adhering to TAL’s architecture, security, governance and operational standards.

Working closely with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, engineers and strategic partners, the Cloud Data Delivery Manager translates priorities into actionable delivery plans and drives execution through to successful outcomes. The role balances scope, quality, timelines and budget, while continuously improving delivery discipline and fostering strong collaboration across TAL’s data ecosystem to achieve scalable and sustainable results.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of cloud data initiatives, including data platform uplift, pipeline modernisation, migration of heritage and legacy databases to cloud, and data product delivery, ensuring outcomes align with business priorities and strategic objectives.
  • Establish and maintain delivery plans, RAID management, dependency tracking, governance forums and status reporting for cloud data programs and initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, engineers and platform teams to align expectations and maintain shared accountability for delivery outcomes.
  • Work with engineering, platform, cyber, risk and governance teams to embed controls, readiness activities and transition requirements into delivery plans.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve cloud data delivery practices, ways of working, planning discipline and cross-team coordination.

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in information technology, computer science, engineering, business, project delivery or a related discipline.
  • Relevant certifications in project or delivery management, agile delivery, Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks or related technologies are desirable.
  • Strong understanding of cloud data delivery lifecycles, including planning, build, testing, release, transition and operational readiness.
  • Working knowledge of modern cloud data platforms and services such as Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks and related tooling.
  • Understanding of data engineering, platform, integration and analytics concepts, including the complexities of migrating heritage and legacy databases to cloud environments, sufficient to manage delivery effectively across technical teams.
  • Knowledge of governance, privacy, security, data risk and operational control requirements relevant to enterprise data delivery.
  • Familiarity with agile, hybrid and iterative delivery approaches, along with relevant planning and reporting disciplines.
