Department Overview

The Vendor Management Group strategically leverages external specialized resources to build an efficient and robust business structure that allows our company to focus on core business. This group plays a crucial role in making optimal IT investments through vendor negotiations, purchasing, and procurement operations, ensuring high-quality IT services and products. Furthermore, based on our business needs, we support optimal investment decisions for business SaaS applications and their implementation and utilization. Through these operations, various projects are launched, providing a practical environment to experience everything from planning and launch to execution and operation.

Why We Hire

We are currently recruiting individuals who can contribute to the further development of Rakuten Card services as a cloud architect/engineer in a newly established team for new service development. You will be responsible for designing, building, maintaining, and operating mission-critical payment service systems on AWS.

- Construction, improvement, and maintenance of CI/CD processes

Mandatory Qualifications:

- Infrastructure design and construction experience in AWS environment (3+ years): Practical experience in designing and building mission-critical systems using major AWS services such as Route53, ELB, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, ECS, SQS, CloudWatch, Lambda, and EventBridge.
- Troubleshooting experience in production environments: Experience in handling infrastructure-related issues in mission-critical systems such as payment services, with the ability to quickly identify causes, recover, and plan and execute recurrence prevention measures.
- CI/CD pipeline construction and operation experience: Experience in designing, implementing, improving, and operating CI/CD processes using GitHub Actions + Terraform, etc.
- Deep knowledge and practical experience in security: Design and operation experience based on AWS security best practices (IAM, VPC, Security Group, WAF, etc.)

Desired Qualifications:

- Deep knowledge and operational experience with container technologies: System construction and operation experience using container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Practical experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code): Infrastructure construction and management experience using CloudFormation, Terraform, etc.
- Implementation and operation experience with monitoring and logging tools: Experience in building and operating monitoring infrastructure using Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK Stack, etc.
- Deep knowledge and operational experience with databases: Design, tuning, and operation experience with relational databases (RDS for PostgreSQL/MySQL/Aurora, etc.) or NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, etc.).
- Deep knowledge of networks: Practical experience in VPC network design, VPN connections, etc., in addition to basic knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, etc.
- Microservices architecture design and construction experience: Knowledge and practical experience regarding design philosophy, challenges, and solutions in distributed systems.
- System load testing and performance improvement experience: Track record of identifying system bottlenecks and improving performance in high-load environments.
- Agile development experience: Experience participating as a team member in agile development processes such as Scrum.
- System development and operation experience in the financial industry: Knowledge of specific requirements and regulations related to systems in the financial sector, such as payment services.
- English communication skills: English proficiency at a level that enables technical communication with overseas vendors and global teams
