Job Title: Cloud Architect and Solutions Management Specialist

Location: Silver Spring, MD (On-Site work required)

Clearance: Must be a US Citizen eligible to obtain a Moderate Public Trust

AttainX is seeking a Cloud Architect and Solutions Management Specialist to support cloud modernization and optimization initiatives for a Federal Government client. The ideal candidate will leverage their technical expertise in enterprise cloud architecture, IT modernization, and federal policy compliance to design, implement, and manage secure, scalable, and efficient cloud-based solutions.

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

• Knowledge of DOC, NOAA, and NWS IT policies, cloud architecture standards, and implementation frameworks, or those of similar sized organizations, AND a comprehensive understanding of enterprise cloud methodologies, Configuration Management (CM) principles, and IT modernization practices.
• At least 5 years of recent experience (within the last 6 years) in designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based solutions (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) in enterprise or federal environments.
• At least 5 years of recent experience (within the last 6 years) conducting system and process evaluations, performing gap analyses, and providing written recommendations for modernization or optimization initiatives.
• At least 5 years of recent experience (within the last 6 years) in leading or supporting the design, planning, and implementation of enterprise cloud solutions.
• At least 5 years of experience assisting in the research and procurement of cloud-based or IT infrastructure solutions for government or large organizations.
• At least 3 years of experience working with equipment tracking and asset management processes in alignment with federal standards.

Education / Experience:

• 5+ years of relevant experience in cloud architecture, systems engineering, or IT modernization.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Possess the following professional Certifications:
  1. AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional
  2. Equivalent Cloud or IT Architecture certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in verbal and written communications.
• Proficiency in analytical, documentation, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in handling multiple tasks concurrently.
• Proficiency in project and time management.
  Ability to adjust to changing priorities.
• Ability to work in a cohesive team-oriented environment.
• Must have or the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
• Preferred Qualifications:

Duties:

• Developing and recommending cloud solutions, including Infrastructure-, Platform-, and Software-as-a-Service (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) models, to enhance operational efficiency and compliance.
• Assisting in the research and procurement of secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud solutions that align with government requirements.
• Designing, planning, and overseeing the implementation of approved cloud solutions to ensure compliance with federal and agency standards.
• Ensuring staff adhere to Government documentation practices and policies for equipment adds, moves, and changes.
• Providing written and verbal recommendations to improve equipment tracking processes, documentation practices, and knowledge bases.
