Role Summary

Are you ready to elevate your career and shape the future of our enterprise data platform? We are looking for passionate technology professionals who thrive on solving complex database challenges, driving cloud transformations, and building resilient systems. If you are eager to make a direct technical impact in a high-growth engineering environment, we would love to hear from you.

As a Cloud and Enterprise Infrastructure Manager (D7) in our Core Database Engineering team, you will provide hands-on technical expertise in the database domain across hybrid environments (On-Premises, AWS RDS, GCP). Working alongside the Lead DB Architect, you will execute database migrations, optimize enterprise SQL environments, and contribute to the development of reliable, high-performing database infrastructure following industry best practices. You will participate in technical design reviews, support automated workflows, and build proactive alerting and deployment pipelines for developer environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain high standards for database performance, high availability, and disaster recovery across both Production and Non-Production setups.

2. Cloud Migration & Infrastructure Automation

  • Execute database migration waves from legacy on-premises setups to major cloud platforms (AWS EC2/RDS and/or GCP Cloud SQL), minimizing downtime and data risk.
  • Develop scripts and workflows using PowerShell, T-SQL, and cloud CLI tools to automate routine administrative tasks, maintenance, and monitoring.
  • Support deployment automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) efforts using tools like AWS CloudFormation or CLI.

3. Performance Tuning & Diagnostic Monitoring

  • Conduct query performance tuning, execution plan analysis, index optimization, and wait-stat analysis to resolve operational bottlenecks.
  • Implement proactive alerting mechanisms and monitor wait stats to sustain peak database efficiency and system responsiveness.
  • Collaborate with application teams on schema refactoring, data validation, and query design reviews.

4. Technical Collaboration & Operational Governance

  • Work as part of a global database engineering setup to deliver robust, scalable data platform solutions.
  • Foster an operational culture focused on clear documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), detailed runbooks, and continuous process improvement.
  • Share constructive feedback during technical design reviews and collaborate with cross-functional technology teams.
  1. Vendor & Partner Management
  • Manage relationships with cloud providers (AWS, GCP), third-party database software vendors, and managed service providers (MSPs).
  • Oversee vendor SLAs, license compliance, contract renewals, and support escalations to ensure high-priority incidents are resolved rapidly.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal procurement/finance teams on FinOps initiatives to optimize cloud database spend and reduce infrastructure overhead.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 12–14
  • years of dedicated enterprise experience as a SQL Server DBA across production and non-production setups.
  • Technical Mastery: Deep knowledge of SQL Server Architecture (2016–2022), T-SQL, PowerShell automation, Always On AG, WSFC, AWS (EC2/RDS) and/or GCP Cloud SQL, and basic IaC frameworks.
  • Certifications (Preferred):
  • AWS / Cloud Certified Associate or Professional
  • AWS / Cloud Certified Database Specialty
  • Core Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving, adaptability to evolving cloud technologies, proactive communication, team collaboration, and a continuous learning mindset.
