Job Description

The CLO Primary desk is seeking a high-performing candidate to join a premier CLO arranging platform. As a Vice President on the CLO structuring team, you will drive end-to-end transaction structuring and execution with increasing autonomy across both broadly syndicated loan (BSL) and private credit CLOs (PCLO). The role requires strong judgment, client-facing communication skills, and the ability to lead multiple workstreams in a high-paced deal environment, with the objective of developing into a deal team lead.

The CLO desk sits within the broader credit franchise and interacts closely with leveraged loan trading, sales, private credit financing, and syndicate, operating as a dynamic banking function within a markets business. The team is committed to a collaborative and supportive culture that emphasizes shared ownership, transparency, and continuous development.

Job Responsibilities

  • Originate and advance opportunities through regular dialogue with CLO managers, issuers, and investors
  • Maintain strong awareness of CLO market dynamics and communicate market color to internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain a point of view on issuer clients (pipeline, performance, and structural preferences)
  • Review, analyze, and negotiate CLO documentation and structural terms; identify, escalate, and resolve issues early
  • Negotiate stipulations with a comprehensive understanding of impacts to investors, managers, and rating agency modeling assumptions
  • Manage deal evolution while in-market; assess how changes to pricing, documentation, and terms affect structure and ensure updates are reflected in analysis and marketing materials
  • Partner closely with syndicate, analytics, and sales to deliver coordinated execution and high-quality client coverage
  • Lead client calls and clearly explain structural nuances and deal specifics (capital structure, documentation terms, collateral, key risks)
  • Take ownership on the marketing materials, ensuring quality control and consistency
  • Train, develop, and oversee junior team members; manage workflow and uphold analytical and execution standards
  • Contribute to business management, including monitoring desk performance and communicating priorities to senior management

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Prior experience in CLO structuring/execution (BSL and/or private credit) or closely related structured credit role
  • Strong working knowledge of CLO documentation, transaction mechanics, and deal execution processes
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex transactions and multiple parallel deadlines
  • Strong client-facing communication skills and relationship management capabilities
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skillset (advanced Excel required; Python/VBA a plus)
  • High attention to detail, sound judgment, and strong ownership mindset in a fast-moving environment
  • Familiarity with rating agency criteria and the CLO ratings process
  • Existing CLO manager and/or investor relationships and demonstrated ability to drive origination is a plus
  • SIE, Series 7, Series 63 and Series 79 licenses are required
