Position

The position of Clinician Trainee is under the supervision of the Clinical Manager, with the requirement that 50%, at minimum, of time is Medi-Cal billable or direct service to clients.This positionmustbeavailabletorespondtoMentalHealthclinicintakesasneeded,includingindividual and family therapy with children and their families, and individual therapy with Transitional-Aged Youths.

EssentialDutiesandResponsibilitiesincludethefollowing.Otherdutiesmaybe assigned.

• Providedirectservicetoadults,children,andfamiliesusingWellnessandRecoverymodelof care per the Santa Clara County Mental Health Department system of care.Most clients have dual diagnoses, both mental health and substance abuse disorders.
• Primaryroleistocompleteassessmentsandtreatmentplans,determineongoingtreatment in collaboration with case managers (as appropriate) and providing individual, family and group therapy in accordance with the developed TCP treatment plan
• Provide assessment, crisis intervention, and diagnosis.Use engagement skills to develop narrativesummariesandtreatmentplansusingTransformationalCarePlanningmodelfor all clients assigned to caseload.
• Identifychangingneedsofclientsandassistclientstotransitionappropriatelytohigheror lower level of care.
• Discussprogresstowardtreatmentgoalswithclientand family.
• Consultswithmedicaldoctororotherspecialistsconcerningtreatmentplanandamends plan as directed.
• Refersclienttosupportiveservicestosupplement treatment.
• CollaboratewithCasemanagers,asappropriate,usingateamapproachtodetermine ongoing care and meeting clients of goals.
• Casemanagementtolinkclientsandfamiliestocommunity resources.
• ComplythoroughlywithCountyMentalHealthcontractdocumentationandauditing standards and requirements in a timely manner.
• Participateingroupandindividual supervision

Duetoclientneeds,thispositionrequiresworkingduringeveningandpotentially weekend hours.

QualificationsToperformthisjobsuccessfully,anindividualmustbeabletoperformeachessential duty satisfactorily. • Education–Master'sdegreeinMarriageFamilyTherapy,SocialWork,orClinicalPsychology.
• Experience–1-2yearsoftherapyrelatedwork experience.
• Languageskills–Abilitytoread,analyze,andinterpretgeneralbusinessperiodicals,professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and clinical documents.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients and other professionals.
• Computer Skills – To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internetsoftwareandstandardofficesoftwareaswellastheabilitytodevelopcompetencyin specialized clinical software as needed.
• BilingualEnglish/Spanish preferred.
• Livedincommunity,educationaland/orprofessionalexperiencewithdiverseLGBTQ culture/issues preferred
• Thoroughclinicalknowledgeandexperienceinprovidingmentalhealthservicestochildren, adults, and families.
• Thoroughunderstandingandexperienceinthedeliveryofservicestoanethnicallyand economically diverse population.
• Medi-CalMentalHealthexperienceinSantaClaraCounty preferred.

• Occasionallyrequiredtomoveequipmentweighingabout15poundsduringplaytherapy sessions or moving files.
• Occasionallyworksoutdoorsandwillmovetodifferent locations.

SpecialRequirements:

• Mustbeabletomeetandreceiveacriminalrecordsclearance,asrequiredbyTitleXXII,other licensing regulations, and Caminar practices.

• Thispositionrequiresfrequentdriving.AvalidCaliforniadriverlicense,reliablepersonalvehicle, current personal auto insurance as required by law, and an MVR sufficient to obtain and reasonably maintain insurability under agency auto liability policies are all essential job requirements.
• Mustbeabletopasspostoffer,pre-employmentmedicalanddrugtestsasrequiredunderState Community Care Licensing regulations and/or agency policies.
• MayberequiredtoobtainandmaintainFirstAidandCPR certification.
