Clinician-educators should have evidence of teaching experience and exhibit a fervent desire to be involved in the education of medical students, residents, and fellows. An academic Clinician-Educator (CE) track position is 80% clinical, with additional teaching, scholarship, quality improvement, and administration responsibilities.
Physician-scientist applicants should have substantial post-graduate training highlighted by peer-reviewed publications that demonstrate research productivity, and successful candidates will be expected to establish and maintain an independent research program and participate in the teaching of graduate and medical students. A Physician-Scientist track position provides 80% of the time for research in collaboration across various disciplines.
Clinically focused Geriatricians can be involved in in-patient care in venues ranging from an in-patient Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) unit and a Geriatrics Consult Service to several skilled nursing facilities and ambulatory care clinics, emphasizing transitions-of-care.
All clinical faculty must have an MD/DO, have completed an ACGME-approved Geriatric Medicine fellowship, and meet all state requirements for employment.
