Job Description

The Department of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of mechanisms underpinning substance use and the treatment of substance use and misuse. Applicants with experience in novel therapeutics (e.g., psychedelics, incretin mimetics) in the treatment of substance use disorders are encouraged to apply. Applicants must have an M.D. or Ph.D degree. Board certification in Psychiatry is required. Rank will be commensurate with experience.

Teaching responsibilities may include teaching medical students, psychiatry residents, and postdoctoral fellows, as well as lecture opportunities within the department.

Clinical responsibilities may include clinical evaluation and provision of treatment for adults with substance use disorders.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include developing collaborative and independent research programs related to the understanding and treatment of substance use disorders. Scholarship includes developing and maintaining a program of federally funded research.
