Job Description

The position of Clinician-Day Treatment is as fulfilling as it is challenging. This program offers therapeutic, behavioral, and educational support to students who have been unsuccessful in their previous school placements and need more support from a treatment program. Daily activities include individual, group, and family therapy, keeping detailed documentation, and communicating with all necessary agencies. Experience with mental health is a plus. This position closely follows a school schedule.

This program offers therapeutic, behavioral, and educational support to elementary and middle school students who have been unsuccessful in their previous school placements and need more support from a therapeutic program. Daily activities include individual, group, and family therapy, keeping detailed documentation, and communicating with all necessary agencies. Experience with mental health is required. This position closely follows a Department of Education school schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families to determine treatment needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, caregivers, and other service providers.
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy using evidence-based practices.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, including psychiatrists, case managers, and educators, to ensure coordinated care.
  • Monitor and evaluate clients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to clients and families as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress and treatment interventions.
  • Participate in supervision, training, and professional development activities.

Requirements

You must have:

· LMSW (or Limited Permit), LMHC, or LCSW licensure in New York State

· At least one year of experience working with the grades K-8 in a mental health and/or educational setting

· Outgoing personality with the confidence to handle challenging situations and people

You should have:

· Motivation and a deep desire to work with at-risk children

· Strong understanding of child development

· Ability to take initiative and be creative

· Ability to stay calm under pressure

· Flexibility to adapt to changes in schedule

· Excellent time-management, communication, and organizational skills

No one will be denied access to services due to their inability to pay. A discounted/sliding fee schedule is available based on family size and income.
