This posting represents current and future opportunities across several specialized neurodiagnostic areas:

  • Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU)
  • Intraoperative Neurophysiologic Monitoring Electroencephalography (IONM-EEG)
  • Intraoperative Neurophysiologic Monitoring Electromyography (IONM-EMG)

Mayo Clinic is actively hiring Neurodiagnostic Specialists at the Tech I or II levels offering a clear and supported pathway for advancement as your skills, experience, and certifications grow. You will have access to defined career progression, continuing education, mentorship, specialty certification support, and exposure to some of the most complex cases in healthcare.

Sign-on bonus available for eligible external candidates:

  • $20,000 – Two or more years of experience and certification
  • $15,000 – Less than two years of experience and certification
  • $10,000 – Non-certified and less than two years of experience

Eligible candidates may receive relocation assistance of up to $10,000, based on distance.

Requirements and Career Tier Levels

Mayo Clinic offers a two-tier Neurodiagnostic Specialist structure designed to support growth at every stage of your career. Whether you are just entering the field or bringing years of experience, you will know how to advance, and Mayo Clinic provides the mentorship, education, certification support, and hands-on experience to help you get there. Candidates are considered at the appropriate Tech I or II level based on education, certification, and years of neurodiagnostic experience.

Specialist I: High school diploma or GED required. Graduate of an accredited neurodiagnostic technology program or two years of relevant neurodiagnostic technology experience required. Associate’s degree preferred. Required certification through ABRET, ABEM, and/or AAET must be obtained within two years of employment in the laboratory of hire. Current Basic Life Support certification required.

Specialist II: High school diploma or GED and High School Diploma or GED and a total of 4 years of experience: 2 years of Neurodiagnostic experience with 2 years of experience in laboratory specialty (e.g. IONM EEG, IONM EMG/EP, EMU, MEG) applying to. Must be a current Registered Technologist to apply.
