Description

Clinical Unit Educator (Nursing) designs, implements, and evaluates unit-based clinical education programs. This role integrates clinical expertise with adult learning principles to support competency development, patient safety, and performance improvement. The Clinical Unit Educator provides direct patient care, supports unit operations, and partners with leadership to align education strategies with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and evidence-based practice

What you will doDesign, develop, and implement unit-based education programs, including orientation, competency validation, and ongoing staff developmentEvaluate effectiveness of educational programs through outcomes measurement, competency assessment, and performance improvement dataProvide direct patient care while serving as a clinical resource to support high-acuity nursing practiceCollaborate with unit leadership to identify learning needs, competency gaps, and performance improvement opportunitiesLead and coordinate orientation programs, including preceptor selection, development, and evaluation of orientee progressSupport implementation of new policies, procedures, equipment, and organizational initiatives through targeted educationFacilitate bedside coaching, re-education, and competency validation to ensure safe and effective patient care deliveryServe as liaison between academic partners, students, and clinical staff to support clinical education experiencesParticipate in regulatory readiness, accreditation activities, and compliance with mandatory education requirementsContribute to unit-based and organizational performance improvement initiatives, including quality, safety, and patient outcomes
