Job Description

Cancer Specialists of North Florida is recruiting for an experienced Clinical Trials Nurse Navigator for our busy Research Department. This role sits at the intersection of clinical expertise and research operations — you'll be the clinical eyes on every trial we're considering and every patient we screen, working closely with our Director of Research to grow a diverse, high-quality clinical trials portfolio that expands treatment options for our patients.

This is a remote-friendly position (80–100%) ideal for an oncology RN with strong clinical judgment, an eye for detail, and comfort working independently across EMR systems, sponsor platforms, and protocol documents.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Patient Screening & Identification: Proactively screen the practice's patient population against open and upcoming trial protocols to identify potential candidates for clinical trial enrollment.
  • Eligibility Review: Conduct thorough, protocol-driven review of inclusion/exclusion criteria for patients being considered for trial enrollment, using clinical judgment to flag borderline cases for physician/PI review.
  • Trial Feasibility Assessments: Complete feasibility questionnaires and assessments for sponsors and CROs, evaluating protocol fit against practice capabilities, patient population, and site resources.
  • Portfolio Development: Partner with the Director of Research to evaluate incoming trial opportunities and help build a robust, diverse trial portfolio (tumor types, phases, modalities) aligned with the practice's patient population and strategic goals.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with treating physicians, research coordinators, regulatory staff, and sponsor/CRO representatives to support smooth trial start-up and ongoing patient identification pipelines.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate, audit-ready records of screening activity, feasibility submissions, and eligibility determinations in accordance with GCP and practice standards.
  • Staying Current: Track the practice's open trial portfolio and pipeline, maintaining working knowledge of each protocol's key eligibility criteria to screen efficiently and accurately.
  • All other duties as assigned

Full-time Position, Monday – Friday

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • Active, unencumbered RN license (state of practice; multi-state/compact license a plus)
  • Minimum 2–3 years of oncology nursing experience (infusion, inpatient oncology, or oncology research setting)
  • Strong understanding of oncology diagnoses, staging, treatment regimens, and lab/imaging values relevant to trial eligibility
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience completing detailed forms/questionnaires accurately
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable managing a caseload independently in a remote environment
  • Proficiency with EMR systems and standard office/productivity software

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in clinical research, trial coordination, or feasibility assessment
  • Familiarity with GCP (Good Clinical Practice) guidelines and IRB processes
  • OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) or CCRP/CCRC certification
  • Experience working directly with pharmaceutical sponsors or CROs

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications
