PBS4 is a values led social care provider for adults with Neurodisability, we support people to live in their own homes, with their own tenancies and our model of support is a practice called Positive Behaviour Support. We are a medium-sized organisation supporting 120 people across Hampshire, Dorset, Berkshire, Somerset and Oxfordshire and with a workforce of around 400.
As PBS4 grows, the demands for both training delivery and clinical input increase and develop. The post holder will be a key member of the clinical and training team to support the implementation of PBS and delivery of training both across the organisation and externally. They will work closely with the people we support and their support team to ensure competency in PBS and quality of PBS plans.
We will support the successful applicant to pursue further education and training either in learning and development or Positive Behaviour Support. Alternative education pathways may be considered. If not already, we will support the successful applicant to become a PROACT-SCIPr-UK(R) instructor.
The role of a Clinical & Training Assistant within PBS4 is to work flexibly across the organisation, supporting to embed our values and culture within the support we provide. A primary focus will include delivery of our mandatory and bespoke training along with associated administration, but the clinical aspects of the role may also include the following;
Building strong rapport and professional working relationships with the people we support will be central to the role, and role modelling and coaching other team members is essential. The PBS Clinical & Training Assistant will also need to build strong relationships with all of our team members and work in partnership with other professionals. Clear, positive and professional communication is essential to achieving this.
The PBS Clinical & Training Assistant will also be responsible for supporting supervised consultancy and training work outside of PBS4 to support delivery of PBS.
PBS4 encourage the upskilling of their staff and the need for progression. You are therefore expected to get involved in meetings, work towards gaining appropriate work-related qualifications, attend relevant training courses and be willing to learn new practices and ways of working. You will maintain up to date records of your training and continuous professional development.

We operate across Hampshire, Dorset, Berkshire, Oxfordshire and other neighbouring counties, providing:
- support for people living in their own homes or in shared housing
- support for people to find and maintain suitable accommodation
- positive behaviour support, including specialist behaviour consultancy and training
- outreach and opportunities to participate in community activities
Our services are funded through contracts placed by local authorities. Some people have Personal Budgets and can purchase their own support.
