A caregiver in this position worksdays from 6:00AM – 6:30PM
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide orassistwith patient care under the supervision of an RN, such as taking vital signs and weight,assistingpatients with personal care, point of care testing, dressing changes, application of external monitoring devices and inserting urinary Foley Catheters.
Report abnormal findings or changes in physical,mentaland emotional conditions to an RN.
Assistwith keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
Complete an internal training program within two weeks of hire.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma or GED
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)or American Red Crossupon or within new hire period
Nursing students:Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificationrequiredprior to hire
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
One year of recent, full-time patient care experience OR nursing student who has completed at least one clinical rotation as part of an accredited nursing school program OR military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) ORadditionaleducation/training
