Working Environment: The usual working space is a patient care and office area. Physical requirements of the job are detailed
within this job description. Direct patient care requires both fine and gross motor skills. Also subject to exposure to bloodborne
pathogens in patient care. Potential to be exposed to dangerous chemicals (cleaning and disinfecting agents). The environment
may be stressful at times, therefore the ability to work productively under stressful conditions is necessary.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Certified Medical Assistant with experience working in a fast-paced clinical setting providing
supervision of day-to-day patient care activities and overall clinic flow. Performs a variety of clinical and administrative functions
to supervise, support, and provide patient care. Displays strong organizational skills and can effectively multi-task. Responsible for
the daily oversight of clinical/patient care staff. Available onsite to address clinical and/or performance concerns, answer
questions, and direct next steps. Communicates appropriately with clear demonstration of knowledge and understanding of the
reporting matrix. Maintains strong working relationships with accessibility to other departments and work to provide education
for clinical staff in areas of need for improvement or change. Understands and fully utilizes electronic medical records (EMR) and
follows established workflows. Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, medical terminology, knowledge of CPT codes,
healthcare billing and authorizations. All duties are performed to supervise and assist in the care of patients and ensure efficient
operations of the provider practice clinic. Must have good communication skills, support teamwork in the delivery of care, and
demonstrate customer service relations congruent with Ohio County Healthcare’s mission, vision, and values. All supervision,
delegation, and patient care will be performed within professional scope. Work experience and/or leadership within an
outpatient/ambulatory/provider practice setting is optimal for this leadership position. Leadership experience will be considered in the absence of experience working in desired care setting.
1. Provide onsite supervision of day-to-day clinical operations
2. Deliver direct patient care
3. Primary point of contact for clinical staff
4. Coordinate clinical staff scheduling, coverage, and attendance tracking
5. Lead clinical training and education
6. Conduct real-time observations and complete competency assessments
7. Perform audits, rounding, and/or tracers for surveillance of regulatory compliance
8. Act as a liaison between clinical team, clinic mgr, and clinical staff operations mgr
9. Support/Provide patient education efforts
10. Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the EMR
11. Assist with prior authorizations, billing-related documentation, and coordination of referrals

QUALIFICATIONS:
· Education: High School Diploma or GED
· Certification/Credential: Certified MA or AB-ROE required

Experience: Previous experience in like setting preferred. 2+ years’ experience working as medical assistant in
clinical/ambulatory/outpatient setting strongly preferred
· Other: BLS provider status at hire or obtained within 6 months of hire. Must be able to communicate effectively with
physicians, patients and the public and be capable of establishing good working relationships with both internal and
external customers. Basic keyboarding and computer skills. Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions
effectively. Experience with medical office protocols/procedures and medical terminology. Experience navigating
electronic medical records (EMR) strongly preferred
