The Company: McKinley is a highly respected child welfare organization, conveniently located in the beautiful city of San Dimas, with 4 additional locations throughout Southern California. McKinley is nationally accredited, licensed by the California Department of Social Services, and is certified by the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health. McKinley’s comprehensive array of programs and services – which touch nearly 1,500 lives annually – include short term residential treatment program (STRTP), Foster Care, Adoptions, Mental Health Services and Special Education. The Position: Oversee the clinical functions of staff to ensure quality of care to clients, the professional development of clinicians, and adherence to agency policies and procedures. This position also provides clinical oversight of substance use disorder (SUD) services, ensuring the integration of co-occurring mental health and substance use treatment in accordance with all regulatory and payer requirements.

Compensation and Benefits:

The pay range we’re offering is $93,000.00 - $102,000.00 annually.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field
  • Active, unrestricted California BBS licensure (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in county-contracted behavioral health settings
  • Minimum of 2 years post-licensure clinical experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience providing or supervising substance use disorder (SUD) treatment services required or strongly preferred
  • Experience working with co-occurring (dual diagnosis) populations preferred
  • Knowledge of Medi-Cal/DHCS requirements for SUD services preferred

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the Clinicians and other direct reports are in full regulatory compliance and that clinical services are delivered in accordance with recognized best practices
  • Provide individual and group supervision for Mental Health Clinicians in accordance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards and agency policy
  • Provide collaboration with Quality Assurance and Compliance Team Members to ensure documentation compliance.
  • Work with other Clinical Supervisors and the Director to ensure compliance with program guidelines.
  • Monitor and assure adherence of programs to all governing bodies
  • Monitor care records to assure that required treatment documentation is included and meets agency and professional standards
  • Monitor and review all agency protocols and practices
  • Assist Clinicians in developing treatment plans which ensure quality services and are sensitive to cultural issues.
  • Provide clinical oversight of substance use disorder services, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state (e.g., DHCS), and county regulations
  • Ensure integration of mental health and substance use treatment for clients with co-occurring disorders
  • Oversee screening, assessment, and diagnosis of substance use disorders, including appropriate level of care determinations
  • Support clinicians in implementing evidence-based practices for SUD treatment (e.g., Motivational Interviewing, CBT, relapse prevention, harm reduction strategies)
  • Monitor treatment planning to ensure inclusion of substance use goals, relapse prevention planning, and recovery supports
  • Provide guidance and oversight related to risk assessment, including withdrawal risk, relapse risk, and coordination of higher levels of care (e.g., detox, residential treatment)
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of all SUD-related documentation in accordance with payer and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including medical and psychiatric providers, to support comprehensive care
  • Support program development, implementation, and continuous quality improvement efforts related to SUD services
  • Assist in audits, site reviews, and compliance monitoring specific to SUD programming
